What a trip! That is hands down THE best way to see the Kimberly. Terrific, Professional, knowledgeable, friendly, patient team. Having all our food planned, transported and cooked was a dream. Having all the decision making taken out of the day to day activities meant we could spend more time enjoying the company and the destination and not have to worry about the journey. The journey was still full of adventure and fun, because we were self driving. So the trip was still very much ours, even though we didn’t have to actually plan it! So much fun. Hands down best family holiday ever!!

Outstanding Kimberley Experience We had an absolutely amazing experience with Kimberley Adventure Tours and couldn’t recommend them highly enough! A special mention has to go to Jacob, who was absolutely exceptional. His knowledge of the Kimberley was exemplary — he was incredibly informative, passionate and always happy to share his knowledge, which made the experience even more memorable. And then there was the food! Jacob and Pav’s cooking skills were amazing — enjoying such delicious meals while traveling through such an incredible part of Australia was definitely a highlight. The food was consistently fantastic and far exceeded our expectations. The whole experience was made even more special by the wonderful team (Jacob) and the attention to detail throughout the trip. Thank you, Kimberley Adventure Tours, for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be recommending you to friends and family! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was our first experience of camping and four wheel driving. We think this is the only way to see the Kimberley’s . Our guides the Dusty Boys made this holiday special- from the early starts to see the sites before the crowds and heat , the driving guidance, the stories , flora , fauna and history of the Kimberley’s, the amazing Gorges, caves , creeks and waterfalls we swam at , and the incredible dinners cooked over an open fire. It’s a small group of vehicles so easy to connect and share the experience with the group. Highly recommend this holiday to those who love an adventure and getting out into nature. Thank you Jacob and Pav .

What a trip! I would recommend Kimberley Adventures to anyone. It’s one of the best tours I have done. The Kimberley is stunning and we got to see it on a real adventure. The vehicles were great - Land Cruisers with Tommy Campers on the back … so it was glamping at its best. We stayed at private campgrounds on some stations like Larawa Station, Mt Elizabeth and El Questro. The itinerary was full on with early mornings and full days. Lots of hikes and swimming in waterholes. The food was unbelievable… campfire dinners like roast lamb, Thai kangaroo salad, barramundi and Thai curry. But I think the most outstanding part was the guidance from Jacob Fisher and Luke Pavich. To give you an idea of how good Jacob is, we nicknamed him “Siri”. He’s the funniest, most knowledgeable, humble and patient guide I’ve met. He has a really in-depth knowledge of the local indigenous culture and a strong connection.

So I decided to give myself a couple of weeks after the end of our trip, just to see if the glow of the sunset over Cable Beach on our last day slipped away. It has not. Kimberley Adventure Tours were recommended to us as one of the most fulfilling travel experience by a well travelled friend. We wholeheartedly now agree. Jacob and Bryony were the perfect hosts, guides, cooks, 2way radio stars, knowledgeable, secret campsites finders and 4WD instructors-they are gold. The Kimberleys are amazing and we managed to discover what has to be the best way to see. So Good.

For myself and teenage daughter this was a trip of a lifetime. Words cannot sum up the amazing experiences and care that we have had; Jacob’s deep knowledge and obvious love for Australia and for the region and his ability and joy in sharing this love was infectious. Bryony’s warmth and welcome made us feel like we were at home from day one. It has been exceptional from the first email to the last drop off at our hotel at the end of the trip. We have learnt so much, hiked and swum in gorges, creeks and rivers and seeing my daughter bundle up enough courage to jump off rocks whilst everyone whooped and applauded is a super special memory … and we’ve eaten amazingly well. How Jacob & Bryony created such stunning meals off nothing more than a campfire and a little gas stove is mind blowing. And that’s before the magic of the Kimberley, the secret spots and beautifully peaceful campsites … and the adventures themselves. So a huge heartfelt thank you to Jacob, Bryony & Flynn. And for anyone reading, if this sounds like your kind of thing, just book it now :)

We went on the tour a couple of weeks back and are still missing the group and our wonderful guides. The Kimberley is a must see area of Australia and this is a superb way to go about it. Our guides Jacob, Bryony and Flynn ensured we had an amazing trip. Their knowledge, amazing personalities and seamless organisation made the trip one of the best travel experience we have had. Incredible camp fire prepared meals, fun camping in stunning locations and plenty of adventures ensured a great time was had by all members of the group who ranged from teenagers to older clients. Everyone was catered for brilliantly. We can’t wait to hopefully do this again along with friends and family to share this terrific experience.

We have just finished a magnificent 10 day tag a long tour with Jacob, Bryney and Flin. We had the most wonderful time and were so impressed with every aspect of the tour. The special places that we got to see were just amazing, the delicious food cooked for us each day was healthy and tasty. The private camp sites were such a special treat and a lovely way to see the Kimberley’s. All 3 guides were knowledgeable and went out of their way to make our holiday so memorable. I highly recommend this trip and am sorry that it is over.

This is a cracker of a tour and I defy anyone to miss it! The itinerary is packed full of astoundingly beautiful and often secret places, swimming holes and gorges galore; our tour leaders Jacob and Briony kept us moving along so that we were able to fit so much in a day, while feeeding us admirably with camp oven dinners around the campfire and fresh salads and meat to go in our lunchwraps, cooked breaky sometimes, all seemed to miraculously appear! . Helpful when we needed it, Jacob regaled us with Dreamtime stories while keeping close tally of vehicles on the track, nothing was too much trouble and I always felt safe in a sometimes wild environment! It was an experience of a lifetime to do this Kimberly adventure, largely due to the attention to detail and patience of Jacob and Briony.

Amazing trip and I highly recommend. While challenging, rhe tag-along format takes all the stress out of the adventure, so you never have to worry about logistics, meal planning, navigation, or being stranded if you run into mechanical issues. Driving in convoy is also much more relaxing, with the guide in the lead vehicle calling out hazards and oncoming traffic over the UHF radio. The tour also gives you access to private tracks and campgrounds that you wouldn't normally experience on your own. The evening ends with a fantastic freshly prepared meal enjoyed around the campfire. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. A huge thank you to our guides, Joey and Will, who were outstanding throughout the trip.

Thanks KAT, Joey and Will for a tag‑along tour my family and I will never forget! I’m usually a hotel‑bed, hot‑shower, clean‑toilet kind of holidaymaker. This trip was the complete opposite — cold vehicle showers we only used for feet, no privacy cover, a bucket toilet no one touched, and sunrise squats behind prickly spinifex. The walks were tough (mostly grade 4), and not being able to swim made the waterhole stops even harder. But there were also plenty of chances for hot showers, flushing toilets, extra food and cold drinks at roadhouses, plus daily swims in crystal‑clear waterholes and waterfalls — some with hot springs. Despite the challenges, I still gave 5 stars. Every day was an adventure. We used every gear in the vehicles to navigate true 4WD country: boulders, rocks, river crossings, steep 45° climbs and descents, thick sand, corrugations — you name it. Joey and Will guided us through everything over the 2‑way with calm, clear instructions. The vehicles had inverters for fridges, lights, showers and charging ports, though ours stopped charging after day 7. The team quickly helped with an esky and power banks, so definitely check your charger when you pick up your vehicle. The Norweld camper was comfortable, and most nights we slept with the sides open under mozzie nets, watching the Milky Way in a cloudless sky. The kids slept snug in swags and tents, even with July nights dropping to 10°C. We were up at dawn every day, and surprisingly got more sleep than at home. By 9am we’d already walked chest‑deep through a river with packs overhead, explored Tunnel Creek by head torch while Joey shared the story of Jandamarra, soaked in Zebedee Springs, or enjoyed scones and a hot cuppa. With 6am starts, it felt like noon by mid‑morning — and already 30°C — with a full day still ahead. Joey, our tour leader, was a laid‑back Bear Grylls: knowledgeable, fit, funny, and endlessly patient. He kept us entertained on the drives with facts about the land, flora, fauna and culture. And the meals! Pasta, nachos, lamb roast, burgers, even dessert — plus freshly caught bream he cleaned and cooked himself. We never had to worry about cooking or cleaning. Every campsite was unique: one night on a plateau overlooking a stunning escarpment, the next beside a babbling brook. El Questro was the only stop with other campers, and the bistro, bar and trivia night made for a fun late evening. The Kimberley is otherworldly — ancient rock art, dramatic formations carved by wind and water, and colour everywhere you look. KAT gave us special access away from crowds, early entries and secluded campsites. I had the most incredible time. Thank you KAT, Joey and Will for an unforgettable experience.

We toured with Kimberley Adventure Tours in June/July and it was the trip of a lifetime. I have 3 children from 15 to 10 and sick if devices I was looking for an adventure trip. On the recommendation of my work colleague who did the exact same trip with 4 kids I booked straight away. We aren't a camping family but I knew I wanted adventure so I was attracted by the 'best of both worlds' offering of this company. We flew to Broome from Sydney and it exceeded all expectations. The guides (Tim and Joey) had us secure, entertained, hiking, putting up tents and 4wd driving through the most beautiful terrain. The vehicles were comfortable, well stocked with all the equipment needed. The kids met other kids (Loved footy with Joey) and loved the waterholes, jumping off rocks and dinners around a fire. The game changer for me was no cooking. From brekky to dinner we ate so well, propped up by self bought snacks from the colourful Roadhouses along the way. It was the perfect mix of meeting new families, time alone as a family on the drives and even some quiet solo reflective moments laying on the rocks in a gorge. . Tim and his team love the area and what they do. You will see and stay on sites that are unique because of the local relationships they have formed. Don't over think it just book

We had an amazing time on our trip with Joey & Will as our guides. So much ground was covered and adventures had yet it was still relaxing because we did not have to think about any of the planning or logistics. The 4WDriving was challenging & exciting, but everyone in the group, even the first-timers made it through with a sense of achievement, thanks to our guides’ support. A real benefit is the deep knowledge of the area KAT have, taking us to little known spots, or getting to the must-see, popular places at quiet times. If you like adventures, great company, dinner & laughs round the camp-fire, new friends, sleeping under the stars, stunning aboriginal rock art, swimming in secret gorges and exploring the Kimberley - this trip is a must-do!

If you're wondering whether it's worth taking young children, don't hesitate. Our kids had the adventure of a lifetime, and so did we. It was, without question, one of the most extraordinary travel experiences our family has ever had. What makes Kimberley Adventure Tours so special isn't just the spectacular landscapes (which genuinely exceeded every expectation we had), it's the people and the way the experience is delivered. Jacob was simply exceptional. His depth of knowledge about the Kimberley its geology, history, wildlife, ecology and Indigenous culture added so much richness to every single day. He shared stories with genuine respect and cultural awareness, helping us understand not just what we were seeing, but why these places matter. His passion for the Kimberley is infectious. On top of that, I honestly don't think there's anything Jacob can't fix! Jakob approached everything with calm confidence, humour and kindness. And somehow, after long days of adventure, he would produce incredible meals over a campfire that became a highlight in themselves. Bryony was equally wonderful and such an important part of what made the tour so memorable. She has an incredible ability to make everyone feel welcome, cared for and included. Her warmth, positivity and genuine kindness created such a relaxed atmosphere, and she seemed to anticipate what people needed before they even asked. Whether she was sharing stories, supporting families or simply making people laugh, she brought so much energy and heart to the experience. Our children absolutely adored her, and she made them feel like valued members of the team throughout the journey. Travelling as a family with young children can sometimes feel daunting, but this tour struck the perfect balance between adventure and safety. The smaller group size meant it felt incredibly personal. Our children were welcomed, encouraged and included from day one, and we always felt completely safe and supported. The exclusive campsites, incredible hikes, swimming holes, 4WD experiences and evenings around the campfire created memories we'll treasure forever. A heartfelt thank you to Jacob, Bryony and the entire Kimberley Adventure Tours team. You've created something truly special, and we'll be talking about this adventure for many years to come. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

I could share photos of this incredible experience, but I'd encourage you to discover it for yourself! Rest assured, you're in for the trip of a lifetime – one as transformational as the landscapes you'll encounter, as rich as the stories that will entertain and inspire you, and as heartwarming as gathering around the evening campfire. A huge thank you to Jacob, Bryony, and Flin, who filled our days with adventure and laughter, and our evenings with exceptional food and the kind of deep peace that only comes from sitting beneath a sky full of stars, offline and off-grid. This team is simply the best.

Where do I start? I love a sunburnt country! I love red dirt! I love those haunting open skies! Tim and his exceptional crew in Joey, Will and Tildy surpassed every expectation. Wizards of the Wild West! This 10-day tagalong tour of The Kimberley was nothing short of exceptional. What an adventure we had. From the remote exclusive camping sites, glistening water holes, rugged boulder hikes, majestic gorges and the intrepid 4-wheel driving with a true “she’ll be right” approach, no stone was left unturned. We will forever remember this trip and the amazing families we met, the good ol’ Aussie humour and our impassioned guides. My first holiday of no cooking or organising meals was a true highlight. The bush tucker was hard to beat. None of this would be possible without the impeccable planning of Tim and his team, letting us in on their secrets of the Kimberley and hypnotising us with their whimsical storytelling. I don’t need to drink the Kimberley Kool-Aid. Its beauty is raw and real. A must on every bucket-list. Don’t think. Just book. Unforgettable. Xx

The Kimberley is almost impossible to describe - ancient, enormous, fragile, a little daunting and dusty and beautiful all at once. Gorgeous colours in every rock face, gorge and waterhole. But what made it the best experience imaginable was the way Tim and the team held it all together: the knowledge, the confidence, the thoughtful itinerary that balanced a real sense of adventure with genuinely off-the-beaten-track camps. They took care of every logistic so we never had to think about food, fuel, or where to find a bush mechanic - we just got to be immersed. Space to enjoy all the best bits of a holiday: the hikes, swimming, four-wheel driving, and properly disconnecting. Red dirt, shooting stars, gorges and swimming holes every day, thoughtfully coordinated. The kids went tech-free without (almost) a single complaint. We soaked up ancient rock art, learnt about (some of) the native plants, and came home confident for more adventurous holidays as a family. What a gift. Thank you Tim, Joey and the whole Wild Adventures crew — an unforgettable trip, beautifully run.

We had an amazing 10 days with these guys! Everything from the food to the sights to the driving was really awesome. The knowledge Jacob, B, and Flynn shared was incredible and we learned a lot about the area, indigenous peoples, and 4 wheel driving! Our highlights were definitely the hot meals at night, the water holes, sleeping in swags under the stars, and the overall energy our guides brought to the trip. Massive thank you're them from the Fellers!

Wow! wow! Wow! An experience of a lifetime. I am so grateful Kimberley Adventure Tours and there partners offer this incredible experience. An experience which takes a person on a unique and fabulous journey to discovery the Kimberley region. The journey does require fitness, agility, and solid driving capability over long stretches of corrugated and dusty roads such as the Gib Rover Road. A sense of adventure is required along with a preparedness to be flexible and contribute to other tour guests. If you bring all that you will be rewarded. Swimming gorges, camping at incredible locations, sunsets galore, water and river crossings, 4x4 challenges and excellent food. Our guides made it all happen. Their local knowledge and expertise took us to places others simply can’t get to. If you want a truly authentic outback 4x4 experience with hiking and swimming in amazing locations you simply have to take this trip. We came away with a deep appreciation for the land, its creatures and features, and for the people who live and work on it and who came before us. Exceeded my expectations. A heartfelt Thankyou. This was a childhood dream having watched and been inspired by the outback adventures of Mike & Mal Leyland who beamed their stories into our living rooms on a Sunday night. I’m inspired to see more and my is inspired to paint what she saw.

Jacob & Bryony, our tour leaders, were capable, friendly, enthusiastic, flexible & empathetic. The trip itself was well-planned & coordinated. The tour leaders were exceptional at addressing problems as they arose. The Toyota Landcruisers are amazing vehicles in terms of the power & ability required to manage the tracks, and they were well-supplied with extra treats such as fruit & snacks, in addition to the range & quality of meals created from the Tardis lead vehicle (it's bigger on the insider than it looks from the outside), which were magically produced by Jacob & Bryony. The evening rest sites were well-chosen with special views and/or locations. The early morning bird chorus was delightful & the evening crush hour was manageable (with repellent) for those of us who prove irresistible to mosquitoes. The commentary and stories of country provided by Jacob were amusing, informative, and both helpful & respectful of local Indigenous landowners. It would be an added bonus to hear stories of the women on country - I'm sure there are many wonderful tales that could be included in order to provide a full & rounded narrative of local peoples and their societies. Additionally, softer options could be offered, eg we chose accommodation at El Questro & Mount Elizabeth Station in order to manage health issues that arose en route. Some clients may wish to know of these alternatives prior to booking? Above all, I appreciated the opportunity to take quiet moments to appreciate the astonishing beauty of the sites we visited that, in turn, allow one's sense of self to expand into the wonderment of nature. For this alone the trip was worthwhile. Thank you both.

What an experience with Jacob and Bryony. If you like to learn 4 WD- and seeing the amazing Kimberly, that’s your team. Jacob guided us through areas, we could only dream off and the knowledge and stories about Kimberly was very interesting. All campsites was very private and the meals what he cooked up was five star. We loved the hikes and swimming in waterholes, walking through rivers, every day was a different adventure. Jacob and Bryony made the adventure very special, always a smile on their faces and accommodate everybody’s requirements. Thank you for the amazing unforgettable tour Geni and Gerlinde

OUTSTANDING TRIP - ONE OF THE BEST One of our best trips ever. Jacob and Pav were brilliant guides, chefs, story tellers, hole diggers and generally great fun. Pre-trip organisation was excellent. Our Kimberley Adventures Tagalong Tour was simply magnificent. The 4-wheel driving was challenging but so much fun, the outback environment is stunning and like nowhere else on earth, and Jacob's and Briony's leadership was exceptional. We enjoyed Jacob's storytelling as much as his culinary skills at the campfire. Thank you everyone.

Jacob & Bryony were wonderful tour guides on our Kimberley adventure 4WD tag-along trip. Jacob has intensive historical, geological, environmental, indigenous, botanical, zoological and local knowledge. He provided an abundance of information and told lovely, interesting local stories during the easier parts of our journey. He also is a fantastic cook and surprised us with a delicious meal cooked on the open fire every night. He is an amazing mechanic and excellent four-wheel-driver, guiding us expertly through the ‘spicy bits’ off- road. He never tired to provide Support and advice in whatever need or situation arose. He has boundless energy, is funny and smart, easy to talk to and relating well to every member of the group. He managed the group dynamics very well and the atmosphere was harmonious throughout the trip. I have travelled a lot during my long life and met numerous tour guides - Jacob deserves a rating of 10 out of 10. Bryony is also a wonderful tour guide. She is knowledgeable, helpful, kind, calm and very easy to relate to. Her charming smile and friendliness added something special to my days on the trip. She never seemed to be too tired to respond to any request directed at her, despite working from before dawn to after dusk. Between the two of them, Jacob & Bryony took us on a wonderful and unforgettable adventure in the Kimberley. I highly recommend them as tour guides without any reservation and wish them both well on their future travels. It was a genuine pleasure to have met them and to have spent 10 extraordinary days with them.

Spectacular tour! Jacob and Briony were consummate tour guides, leading us to fabulous and private camping areas, awe-inspiring gorges, swimming holes and viewpoints. And then there was the comprehensive and knowledgeable commentary on the region, aboriginal culture and history, the delicious meals topped up with laughter and camaraderie. Oh, and did I mention the 4wd driving excitement? Don't miss this tour!!

5 stars + 2 more ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Kimberley 10 Day Adventure was everything we could have hoped for - and more! We had high expectations going on this trip - the previous reviews had raised our expectations going to this unique part of the world. As people who had never 4x4'd and wanted to 'do the Gibb' this setup was perfect. Even if you are an experienced 4x4'er I think this is still the way to do it! Everything about this trip was exceptional. • The feeling of agency you have by driving yourself as part of the convoy but the comfort of help being only a CB call away and a delicious meal cooked for you, • The access to private sections of stations that you could never get if you weren't part of the tour, • The guidance from Jacob and Pav on how to best navigate the terrain in the cars, • The local knowledge and insight Jacob imparts with an infectious enthusiasm, • The super tasty meals Jacob and Pav cook and the care they took to make sure everyone's dietary requirements were covered and delicious - plenty of variety and a lesson in how bush cooking can be nourshing and versatile - final night meal was just as fresh and amazing as night 1, • The camraderie that the guests develop over 10 days of adventure, • The option for side missions (to see ancient rock art that others would never find or to go to a very quiet and majestic waterfall) to match the level of activity you want on the hikes, • The unique ability Jacob has to connect with each of his guests - working to understand each person's wants and needs, delivering on these, and leaving us all feel seen, valued and accommodated for is worth 5 stars alone, • I could go on.... This is an experience we will treasure forever. Our guides Jacob and Pav were amazing, and the group we were with made it a true pleasure. Yes, it is expensive - but it is worth every penny. I cannot think of a way anyone who travels the Kimberley, and especially the Gibb, could replicate the experience that this was.

The first day was brilliant then it just got better each day. A real solid introduction to the Kimberley and serious but safe 4wheel driving and adventure. The tour guides really knew their stuff and their depth of knowledge was amazing. The food and camping gear was well fit for purpose. I couldn’t recommend this tour any higher.

What can an Englishman say about an intense immersion in the Kimberley, unlike anything previously experienced anywhere else across the globe. Stunning landscape, much to learn, to discover and master under the expert leadership of Jacob and Pav in the company of a group of fellow travellers all willing and supportive to the unique adventure. Such memorable life skills acquired such as exciting 4WD across rivers and ranges, being in special remote locations…we relished the many experiences to treasure and stories to impart. Expert guidance, coaching and encouragement makes all new experiences and challenges possible ! Relaxing under a waterfall feeling the rush of the water’s energy or resting in warm spring pools watching spiders hanging in webs to vast tracks of Savanah watching for wildlife! Variety for all. A grand finale of fish and chips on Cable Beach with the perfect backdrop of the magnificent Kimberley sunset.

What a grand adventure! It's not often you can do a 10 day holiday and find it impossible to fault. You can go for the 4 wheel driving, the wonderful scenery, swimming holes and waterfalls, and the camaraderie of the group, and the cherry on top is the dynamic Jacob and Pav show. Apart from being excellent leaders, Jacob's encyclopaedic brain provided an education on an eclectic host of subjects and Pav is the chef extraordinary with a wonderful sense of humour. Five stars all round.

Just back from this incredible experience with Kimberley Adventure Tag Along Tour. As experienced global travellers we weren’t sure what to expect but boy did this trip totally exceeded our expectations.Day 1 had us meeting the others on the trip and we didn’t realise how much we would bond during the course of the adventure. The highlights were constant ,each experience seemed to eclipse the previous … the 4wd aspect was fun, gave a sense of achievement and allowed us to go beyond where most would dare particularly with the support of our leaders Jacob and Pav and also the support of our group. This tour included many stays in areas which were very private and it felt like we had everything to ourselves. The sights and experiences in this stunning Kimberley backdrop were simply at times breathtaking. Jacob and Pav kept the whole thing running smoothly offering beautiful meals, expert guidance whether it was 4wd activities , general advice on the trip, good humour and positive energy or simply the sharing of some really great local knowledge and history. The Land Cruisers are super capable and the Tommy Campers very comfortable to sleep in. To anyone considering this trip …. Do yourself a huge favour and do it! We finished the trip on an absolute high having made great bonds with the entire group.Bloody amazing! Thanks again Jacob a Pav for an unforgettable experience.

This was an amazing adventure, a beautiful journey through the Kimberly region. The expert guidance and information shared by our guide Jacob was excellent. The team of Jacob and Pav ensured we were all well fed, prepared for every adventure and constantly surprised by the beauty and history of the Kimberly region. We were a group of people ranging in age from late fifties to early seventies - the 4WD tour was enjoyed by all. Thank you Jacob and Pav, we love our time in the Kimberly region.

Had the pleasure of Jacob and Pav as guide and chef for 10 days in the Gibb River Road.My wife and I then had another 4 days unguided in Kakadu and as a result we can say that the guided experience was worth the extra cost. The knowledge, enthusiasm, and access to remote spots was well worth the extra. The Michelin level Bush Tucker was also a highlight. Life is too short so just do it.

My wife and I recently returned from the 10-day Kimberley tag along tour and it was absolutely incredible from start to finish. A massive shoutout to our guides, Jacob and Luke, who were truly exceptional. Jacob's storytelling brought the landscape to life — every place we visited had a fascinating story behind it, and he had a wonderful way of weaving in local history, culture, and personal anecdotes that made everything so much more meaningful. And he was pretty damn funny too! The scenery was nothing short of stunning. Every turn revealed another breathtaking view that left us in awe. And the food! The meals they cooked for us were fabulous — honestly far better than I expected on a tour like this. The 4WD experience was an adventure in itself — fantastic fun, especially tackling some of the real challenging tracks. It added a great sense of excitement and adventure to the whole trip. If you're considering this tour, don't hesitate - its absolutely worth doing!

Jacob and Luke weaved the tapestry of the Kimberley’s in a such magical way with spellbinding stories and magnificent food around the FirePit. Along the journey we experienced gorgeous swimming pools while being shown all the crazy creatures, ancient drawings and landscape quirkiness. The off-roading kept us all guessing which, at the start of the Dry season was especially challenging. The beauty of this region will stay with the me forever thanks to their guidance. I can’t recommend this tour to the adventurers at heart enough.

We 100% recommend the Broome-Broome Kimberley Adventure Tours 4WD tagalong trip we joined in June 2025 ! Thanks to tourguides Jacob & Marjorie we had a FANTASTIC 11 days discovering the Kimberleys with all its beauties. Early morning wake-ups are a pleasure if every day brings you new surprises, great scenaries, secluded camping spots and wonderful food experiences for all meals. This trip brought and taught us much more than we expected. With no real knowledge on outdoor life nor having 4WD driving experience, we are very grateful we found and booked this experience to do the Gibb River Road. You have the advantages of touring with a small group and still have your independence and privacy in your 4WD. No it's not cheap, but yes it's worth every Australian dollar spent on it ! This really is a trip of a lifetime that we will remember and cherish for ever. Thank You Kimberley Adventure Tours ! Thank You Fellow Travellers from the Kimberley Trip 14/6/25 !

The best way to experience the Kimberley is at steering-wheel-height in a 4WD! Jacob led us through the bush, up and down through numerous out-of-the-way tracks, camping in beautiful picturesque locations, visiting and swimming in hidden gorges, and entertaining us with numerous stories. Experiencing off-road 4WD driving for the first time was fantastic – numerous water crossings, lots of rocks and holes in the tracks, through loose sand and plenty of corrugated roads. All very exciting. And the food, Marjorie’s meals were a highlight and delicious and Jacob turned cooking over an open fire into an artform! We loved our time in the bush with delightful like-minded adventurers. Thank you Jacob and Marjorie for creating such a memorable Kimberley Adventure!

What an adventure! We thoroughly enjoyed our Kimberley trip. Everything from the comfortable camper to the never ending outback. We visited so many special places that were private for our group. Lots of fun 4WD experiences too. The hikes, waterfalls and swimming holes were a highlight. The trip was definitely made more special by our fabulous guides Jacob and Marjorie. Their knowledge of the region is amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and the food that came out of the camp kitchen was second to none. We highly recommend this trip and would love to do a trip with them again. Jo and Dean

Travelled 24 July - 2 August 2025 The trip exceeded our expectations in every aspect. We felt very fortunate to have Jacob and Marjorie as our guides. Always upbeat, warm and patient, they looked after us like after their own family and were excited about the journey just as much as we were. The 4WD driving was exhilarating and a significant part of this amazing adventure. There were numerous road challenges, which were worthwhile, as the roads took us to stunning places off the beaten track. We stayed at picturesque locations, for most part with nobody close by. However, on 6 out of 10 days we had access to hot showers and toilets at the camp sites or stations (!) The trip planning and timing was perfect: we always beat the crowds and the day heat. Being the first visitors in the day to some iconic locations truly allowed us to feel their magic. We were fascinated by Jacob’s vast knowledge of the Kimberley’s stories and nature and his understanding of the aboriginal culture. And the food… The variety and the quality of food on a trip like this was unbelievable. Even breakfasts offered quite a few choices, while dinners surpassed many Sydney restaurants’ creations. No meal appeared on the menu more than once for the duration of the trip and each was accompanied by the themed appetisers, sides and desserts - thanks to Marjorie’s boundless creativity. And it was also fantastic to meet a group of like-minded fellow adventurers to share our happy experiences with. Tanya & Serge

We had a most marvellous trip in the Kimberley, thanks in large part to our excellent guides, Jacob and Marjorie. Jacob kept us entertained and informed throughout the whole trip with compelling narratives about the environment and the Indigenous knowledge of the place. Marjorie was the head chef for a truly excellent succession of meals. One of the most special things about the trip was the way we were able to stay at private camps amongst extraordinarily beautiful landscapes. We were also able to access some very special areas, such as Zebedee Springs, before others came. It meant getting up early in the morning, but it was totally worth it! Overall, it was a fantastic trip that our whole family enjoyed so much and it has given us memories that will last a lifetime. I thoroughly and without any reservations recommend this trip, and Kimberley Adventure Tours, and particularly Jacob and Marjorie.

The 10-day Kimberley tag along tour was absolutely incredible and the perfect adventure for our family of 6, with kids ranging from 6.5 to 13 years old. To be able to experience the magic of the region in such a stress free way was only possible through the meticulous planning and organisation of Tim and our exceptional guides Jacob and Marjorie. Our mostly private campsites, the amazing gorges, hikes, swimming spots and scenery, the stories and knowledge shared by our guides, the like-minded and fun families were all highlights! The food was delicious and continued to surprise us, and to be so well looked after every waking minute was such a treat for the adults giving us the gift of quality time as a family. We highly, highly recommend this trip to anyone thinking about it. We cannot thank Tim, Jacob and Marjorie enough for the perfect 10 days we’ll treasure for a lifetime!

10 Stars If We Could - Best Family Holiday Ever! We joined a Kimberley Adventure Tour (KAT) as a family of five (with three boys aged 9, 12, and 14), and every one of us has said it was the best holiday we've ever had. We haven’t stopped talking about it since we got back!We hadn’t quite appreciated before we arrived in the Kimberley that it’s made up of vast, privately owned pastoral leasehold land rather than national parks, like other outback areas. Thanks to KAT’s owner Tim’s planning, years of experience and deep relationships across the region, we got access to incredible, remote spots that most people would never know existed, let alone be able to enjoy as a private bush camp. It felt like we were getting a behind-the-scenes pass to the Kimberley! The tour itself was brilliantly run. Our guides, Jacob and Marjorie, were knowledgeable, supportive, and just great fun. We always felt safe, even when we were being challenged—whether it was off-road 4WDing (so much fun and really well coached), climbing and scrambling up rock walls in gorges, or swimming into remote waterfalls. The environment they created made it easy for everyone to push themselves and have an awesome adventure. And the food—wow. As parents, having breakfast, lunch, and dinner sorted was a dream. Marjorie’s camp cooking was next level (her bush donuts were a massive hit with the kids!).The Kimberley itself is absolutely magical. Even if you’ve already explored places like Kakadu or Uluru, the Kimberley has a unique, wild beauty that’s hard to describe. It’s something you have to experience at least once in your life. And if you’re going to do it, go with KAT. You won’t regret it. Just wicked and worth every cent — book it!

While the Kimberley itself provides an extraordinary adventure and breathtaking scenery, it takes the right team, equipment, vehicles, and guides to transform it into something truly unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for better than Kimberley Adventure Tours and guiding duo Jacob and Majorie. And what makes this tour different, is the ability to access remote peaceful campgrounds involving an adventurous 4wdriving experience, with the right guidance anyone feels brave enough to tackle. This is a holiday away from the crowds where you can truly appreciate the Kimberley’s. Their enthusiasm, deep local knowledge, stories, and tireless energy made every day a wonderful adventure for both adults and kids. Their passion for the history, the environment, and the outback lifestyle was absolutely infectious. And the food was a delight. As a camper myself, I know how tough it is to cook well under those conditions, yet they absolutely smashed it. The attention to detail, variety, and skill over the fire was nothing short of incredible. We felt so well taken care of. Our family has been blown away, saying it was the trip of a lifetime which well and truly exceeded our expectations. We’re returning home with full hearts, a head full of memories, and a newfound love for the Kimberley’s.

Wow! Epic! Unreal! Incredible! It's hard to put into words how amazing and special this trip is. In my opinion it's the ONLY way to do the Kimberley. Self driving a 4WD, but with the support of a crew is the best of both worlds; Do it yourself, but back up for support. Then there's the itinerary - 20 years of building relationships and finding secret private camps means Tim and the team at KAT have put together the ultimate 10 day trip. We are a family of six with a 15 year old boy, 13 and 11 year old girls, and a 9 year old boy. They said it was the best holiday they've ever been on - and we've been skiing, been to Disneyland etc.. I've seen them grow and challenge themselves so much in the past 10 days and do things they would never have done before. We are a family with very limited camping experience - and everyone took to it like a duck to water. That's in large part to the great organisation by KAT. Everything is thought of - comfortable sleeping, either in the pop up camper, or the kids in swags under the stars; delicious food - breakfast, lunch and dinner each day is a gourmet - you'd be hard pressed to eat that well at a decent hotel; and the perfect balance of swimming, hiking and exploring. The guides Jacob and Marjorie are phenomenal! They bring a huge amount of knowledge - flora, fauna, geology, Indigenous history, pastoralist history etc.... and all of it relayed with great story telling by Jacob! The access to private and exclusive campsites by KAT is a huge differentiator, as is there ability to secure private timeslots or exploit the best times to visit gorges and attractions so you have them to yourselves, or see the best of them before the hordes might arrive. We also had one too many people for our vehicle but the kids took turns rotating with the guides, and quickly preferred riding with them anyway! The itinerary is also constructed in such a way that every day surpasses the last for awe and wonder. I could not recommend this trip highly enough. If you have the time and the means - this is the only way to do the Kimberley. It truly is a trip of a lifetime that will bring your family together and create memories that will last forever. Don't hesitate - book it now!

Amazing outback experience. Just fantastic Well, really, It was a long held ‘bucket list’ and WOW did it live up to the dream! Kimberly Adventure Tours had several negotiated agreements with landowners so exclusivity was a given. I think you do need to understand the outback experience and we had a great group of fellow travellers however the absolute key were our guides Jacob and Marjorie. Their knowledge, expertise and care for everyone was outstanding and OMG the food! Just Fantastic.Thankyou

What a wonderful way to experience the Kimberley! We have just come back from a fabulous 10 day Tagalong journey. You get the rush of 4WD driving (and in places those without the local knowledge and contacts don’t get to go) and the luxury of someone else leading the way and having your meals preplanned. Yes we got hot and stinky and it’s not like staying in a resort - it’s SO MUCH BETTER! The scenery is amazing and thanks to our awesome guides and cooks Jacob and Marjorie (who absolutely made the tour so successful) we had the best time we could have had. We had great weather but because of earlier rain quite a bit of our trip itinerary changed - who cares! Jacob and Marjorie did the planning and worrying and the alternatives they came up with were great. Happy to be back in Broome with hot showers and flushing toilets but this was the trip of a lifetime!

The trip of a lifetime. Blown away by the wild beauty of The Kimberley. The concept of the fully-guided/catered tagalong tour suited us perfectly. We loved the experience of self-drive, and were very impressed with the comfortable rooftop camper and new vehicles. Our guides Jacob and Marjorie were brilliant - guiding us through 4WD-ing, the Kimberley and its history, landscape, flora and fauna. Enjoyed the often humorous recount of stories of the region! Food cooked on campfire was all excellent. Loads of hiking and swimming. We honestly thought each day could not be better than the last, but the itinerary and The Kimberley just kept delivering! Private campsites - off the busy tourist route - most nights a highlight. Could not fault any part of this amazing tour! If you love the outdoors, are open to a bit of adventure, and want to experience a truly incredible part of outback Australia, I’d highly recommend! Great way to explore the iconic Gibb River Road and beyond.

Fabulous 10day Kimberley escape Everyone told us we would love the Kimberley's, it needs to be experienced to truly understand. Our group all agreed Kimberley Adventure tours was the perfect way to experience it. We had 6 couples in their own pop top campers expertly lead by Jacob and Marjory. We covered a huge area but barely noticed the distances. We enjoyed Jacob's commentary through the 2ways,very knowledgeable with humour and enthusiasm. It's amazing how different every day was, beautiful private campsites, gorges, waterfalls and landscapes. Our meals were a very high standard, with plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and salads which was unexpected in the outback. We would highly recommend this trip, lots of fun.

A trip of a lifetime What a fabulous tour. I cannot imagine how a trip to the Kimberley could be any better. The fun and adventures that come from being able to 4WD exceeded our expectations. You camp in comfort in the most amazing places , see stunning gorges , waterfalls and changing landscapes never knowing how each day can continue to be as good or better than the last. You would just not see many of the places unless on this tour. Lastly and importantly this was achieved under the magnificent guidance of Jacob and Marjorie - what a great team. Combination of knowledge, and natural gift for story telling, bundles of enthusiasm , encouraging , organised whilst be able to be flexible , fun in addition to be able to produce such delicious meals. Simply the best

Incredible Kimberley Adventure – Highly Recommend! We had an amazing experience with Kimberley Adventure Tours, guided by the fantastic Jacob and Marjorie. Their knowledge, humour, and 4WD skills made the trip unforgettable.Starting in Broome, we camped privately on Larrawa Station, saw the Bungle Bungles from the air, and hiked into Echidna Chasm. El Questro wowed us with Zebedee Springs – hidden plunge pools, waterfalls, and hot springs.Along the Gibb River Road, we stopped for homemade scones at Ellenbrae, then stayed at Mt Elizabeth Station, swimming in beautiful waterholes. Each day brought stunning gorges, hikes, and refreshing swims.Everything was well-organised and authentic – we can't fault this trip. If you want to experience the best of the Kimberley, this is the tour to take!

I went on the tag-along 4WD adventure tour around the Kimberley. I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. It vastly exceeded my expectations and I had an excellent time through out. Jacob and Marjorie were absolutely invaluable, so knowledgeable and such a great attitude. Literally cannot recommend it highly enough.

The tag-along tour was brilliant. Able to drive our own well-equipped 4WD vehicle to many unique locations and waterholes exceeded our expectations. Jacob and Joey shared their years of knowledge and experience with a sense of humour and provided support and guidance to do so much more than we imagined on this holiday. We only wish we could do more taglong tours like this to other parts of Australia with the same spirit of adventure.

We had always wanted to venture to the Kimberley's and decided on the Kimberley Adventures self-drive 4WD tour as it offered the flexibility of driving ourselves, whilst touring with an experienced guide. Tim and Bianca were marvellous leaders with an excellent knowledge and passion for the area. This trip exceeded our expectations, and it turned out to be one of the best adventures we have experienced. We never wanted for anything, plenty of food, plenty of communication from Tim and Bianca and between the vehicles, and certainly plenty of adventure - hiking, swimming and exploring. The campsites were exceptional and we loved that they were off the beaten track away from crowds. The Tommy Campers are an excellent addition to the tour and are very comfortable. At the beginning of the trip we all gathered together as strangers and left with a bunch of new friends. We highly recommend this tour if you are looking to experience more than just a post card view of the Kimberley's Thanks Tim and Bianca for making our holiday memorable.

Wow! An amazing trip! I’m changed forever! Some tough hikes for my 4 year old but he managed most of them…in his own time 😆 The 4WD camper was perfect, everything you need, and 4WDriving was awesome!!! I’m hooked and looking for our next 4WD tour. Thank you Tim, Joey and Sally. ☀️

An amazing trip! An amazing trip! I’m still on a high a month later. Challenging moments with three boys under 8 and my 64 year old mum but it was one of the best times of my life. The four wheel driving was hardcore! So much fun! And the camper provided was perfect! Loved it!!

This really was the trip of a lifetime. We got to drive on some really rough tracks, through water and over boulders, to amazing places in the Kimberley that our group had all to ourselves. We had all the fun of 4WDing without the stress of having to prepare the car for the trip or worry what would happen if we broke down. We got bogged in the soft sand and had to let our tyres down and get towed out by another car in our group, which felt like more of a fun adventure than a problem! The shock absorber on our car broke, and Tim and Joey fixed it at the next station with some amazing bush mechanic skills. The whole trip was so well planned and executed. The food was fresh and delicious, despite us being in the middle of nowhere and multiple days’ drive to the nearest supermarket. We had some early starts and were rewarded with having many of the Kimberley’s magical places all to ourselves as the sun rose. Every day was an amazing adventure. I would unreservedly recommend this trip to anyone who wants all the fun and adventure of 4WDing in the most breathtaking region of Australia without any of the stress.

10 wonderful days of adventure and a truly authentic Kimberley experience. Not for those after a "glamping" holiday. This was our first time driving a 4WD and it was great fun. Proper bush camps with open fires every night, amazing what can be cooked over a camp fire. Tim knows some secret spots and we went to places we would never have seen if doing the trip on our own. Thank you Tim, Joey and Sally for a memorable holiday.

A fabulous and unique 4WD adventure This was a trip that made family memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks Tim, Joey and Sally for looking after us so well - it was a great balance for us being able to do the four-wheel driving ourselves, whilst having the food and organisation taken care of.We appreciated the effort to get us to special places and unique campsites, words and pictures just don't quite do it justice. The Kimberley is a unique environment and a great holiday destination to lose the hustle and bustle of everyday life, whilst still being active and having plenty to see and do.Highly recommended!

We have travelled a lot and this stands out as one of the best trips we have EVER done. We are a family of 4 with two kids aged 9 and 13. We loved the idea of going in a convoy of 4WDs bc we wanted to have some level of independence and yet we wanted the security of having people who knew the way and could help with the cars if anything went wrong. As it turns out, they also make the fire and work out all the food too - a bonus! Tim and his two kids Sally and Joey did a great job leading this trip. We got to see fantastic sites and we got to stay in amazing campsites that were away from the crowds. The scenery is stunning and it was the most remote area of Australia we had visited. The kids loved everything about it - esp jumping off rocks into water holes and getting to use the radios between the cars. We were very impressed with the quality of the 4WD and the sleeping compartment on top. This was an expensive trip by our measures but we felt it was well worth it and will stay with us as a family memory that we treasure. We liked it so much that we'd love to have Tim take us on another trip like this eg from Adelaide to Alice.

Tim and Bianca are the perfect team to take you on an adventure of a lifetime. Felt very safe being taken out of my comfort zone. Amazing support with the 4WD and hikes. The highlight is being shown places that we would have never been able to access on our own. There was always the next wonderful thing to do. The Tommy Campers are very comfortable and easily accessible. If you want to experience true awe then this tour delivers.

The Kimberley – what an amazing place! Our Adventure Tour was the absolute trip of a lifetime. Many thanks to Tim and Bianca for all of your help with the four-wheel driving tips and wonderful food. We felt so supported and grateful to be able to visit some amazing places - great scenery, great hiking, great indigenous art, great waterfalls & swimming holes and most of all great company. We especially enjoyed the fun filled poems and limericks around the campfire with our new friends. We highly recommend this company and this tour. Unsure of what to expect, we left our Swiss office jobs behind us and headed to the Kimberley’s for a guided adventure tour. They say that the adventure only begins when you leave your comfort zone behind you, which in our case was definitely true. 10 action packed days with ‘real’ off-road 4WD driving to the most amazing places, hiking to remote beautiful swimming pools and waterfalls, dining around the campfire with fantastic food and great company , sleeping in really comfortable Tommy campers under the stars- It does not get any better than this.!! We are so grateful that we were able to be part of such a unique experience – many thanks to Mr Tim ‘Dundee’ and his lovely wife Bianca for making this all possible for us! This Kimberley tour exceeded all my expectations. Tim Joey and Sally guided us into such spectacular and private areas of this region that I wouldnt have had the confidence to venture there as a couple on our own. They guided us on some challenging tracks building our expertise within just a few days. The Tommy campers were brilliant with everything you needed, especially the cool water shower after returning from hikes. The team planned early morning starts providing magnificent rock star sunrises and vantage points where it was just our group allowing us a full day and always getting to camp with plenty of time to setup for the evening Catering was awesome and complimented with camp fires, marshmallows cups of tea and early retreats gearing up for the next day. Most importantly this tour allows one the headspace to recalibrate , get back to nature and challenge you physically and mentally . Highly recommend the KAT team for singles couples and families.

Beyond Words Kimberley Adventure Tours offers an incredible and unrivalled Kimberley experience. Private bush camps on escarpments , next to waterholes and on the side of streams was just one of the many highlights . The team had us up early with delicious breakfasts by campfires with brewed coffee and billy tea before we swam, hiked, strolled and gently navigated 4WD tracks I never thought I could ever do. We hit the trifecta with Tims guidance and support and Joey and Sallys expertise making it a must for singles couples and families. Total immersion into nature with sunrises sunsets milky ways and starry nights usually reserved for National Geographic . Put your trust in this team to give you a once in a lifetime experience .

We can thoroughly recommend Kimberley Adventure Tours for a real 4WD adventure holiday exploring the Kimberley region. Tim and Bianca provided an awesome small group experience. Bush camping in remote spots, great food and chat around the campfire each night. The Tommy campers were comfortable and well set up. Lots of hiking through gorges to beautiful swimming spots and indigenous art sites. We often had special places to ourselves due to Tim and Bianca’s knowledge and connections around the region. Our family of 5 (kids aged 11, 9 and 5) had an incredible time on the 10 day Kimberley self drive tour. Heath is an excellent tour guide - very knowledgeable and personable. Angie’s catering was simply remarkable. Heath, Angie and the other people on the tour made our kids feel very included and welcome. The itinerary is not for those wanting quiet downtime - there is lots of travel, sights and adventure! It was fantastic seeing our kids throw themselves into all the activities such as hiking, swimming and camping. We absolutely recommend this experience.

It was a trip of a lifetime which one can't put together oneself. The self-drive experience took us to places barely accessible to the wider public (and certainly not by larger busses) and our guides were outstanding. Thanks to their expertise and deep knowledge of the Kimberleys, all 6 of us had an amazing time (kids 6-13). All hikes and swims were adventurous but fine to handle with the kids. And we learned so much about flora and fauna. We enjoyed most of the spots we visited without any other group around (as our guides knew very well when and how to visit) and were always looking forward to the excellent cooking at night. If you are unsure of going with kids or of the self drive experience ... GO! DO IT! These memories will count towards a hand full of unique trips we make in a lifetime. You will not find another tour operator nor guides like this again.

Hands down the best tour I’ve ever done! Truly life-changing! 🌿 This tour is hands down the best tour I’ve ever done! I’ve done loads of tours all over the world and doing this tour with Rik was absolutely phenomenal.Rik has so much knowledge and experience and shows so much care and kindness with guiding the tour. His 20+ years of guiding experience all over the world makes such a difference, and I’d happily sign up to any tour guided by Rik again! Give the man a raise, because I swear he made the trip 200% better than it would’ve been otherwise (and that would have already been 11/10). I give him more than a 5 star review, I’m going with a 10 star review! (…also sorry for talking about cheese so much Rik :P)This tour changed my life. Camping under the stars, hiking to waterfalls/water holes everyday, exploring amazing places, hearing Aboriginal stories and seeing rock art, seeing ALL the wildlife (bats, crocs, birds, wallabies, fish etc), clambering over gorges finding new places, seeing the Bungle Bungles at sunrise/sunset, flying in a helicopter over the Bungle Bungles, walking and swimming through a dark bat cave to explore, hiking into see places early in the morning when no one else is there, Kununurra gorge at sunset, swimming at the beach at Mt Barnett camp site near Manning Gorge, swimming at sunset at Lake Argyle with a drink in hand and floating nibbles nearby, did I mention the amazing birdlife?! You couldn’t wipe the smile off my face the whole trip! I wouldn’t shut up chatting about wildlife and nature and saying ‘wow!’ at every turn. The food is excellent! Fresh, healthy and different options every day! Cooking together with everyone adds to the magic of the trip. One camp site even has an outdoor shower! (a personal favourite).Travelling on this tour through the Kimberley is sooo good for the soul. Do it, do it, do it!! You won’t regret it! And if you can, request to go on a tour with Rik or Adam. Both are awesome, and make it even more fantastic!

If there were 10 stars, I would rate this tour 10 stars!! Everything from the itinerary, quality of car, camp equipment, camp sites, the food and the whole organization and the staff. Both Heath and Angie get a 10 star rating. Heath is such a knowledgeable guide and yet so personable and so professional. Heath goes out of his way to make this a real unforgettable experience. Likewise Angie the Chef. the food and cuisine nothing short of exceptional especially given the equipment and limited access to fresh food all the time. Every meal was exceptional. In other words, an exceptional unforgettable experience. From Vincent & Kim from Tango Landcruiser!!

Thankyou Kimberley Adventure Tours and Shane, our guide, for an amazing adventure through this stunning land. We went on a 10 day family adventure from Broome to Darwin and just loved it! It's not a luxury tour - it is an adventure of the very best kind! And IMO it’s the only tour company that truly caters for families with kids. Very grateful to have explored this wild part of our beautiful country with my two boys (9 & 12), watching them learn and grow from such a wonderful experience. We loved every minute of bush camping, sleeping in swags under the stars, swimming in waterfalls, pitching in around camp and making new friends. Our guide Shane was experienced and knowledgeable, non-stop enthusiasm, and above and beyond efforts and organisation to ensure we experienced everything possible. The Kimberley now has a piece of our hearts 💚

Can HIGHLY recommend this tour. We got back a week ago and am missing it!!! Was such an amazing experience, being able to go off the beaten track, experience going off road but with the comfort that we had our experienced guides to help us through. We had a couple of flat tyres and car challenges (which all added to the adventure & expected given the off road adventure we wanted!) and Heath and Angie our guides quickly problem solved all while having a smile on their face. The places we went were awesome, the food was amazing and was great to meet other families. Our family would never have been able to experience the kimberleys this way if it wasn't for this self driving tour. The knowledge from our guides, being in safe hands and knowing all the secrets spots made this tour a really memorable experience for our whole family (aged 3 to 69!). Three generations and we all loved it! Thanks Tim, Heath and Angie - we loved it!

We have just returned from our 10 day Broome-Broome Self Drive tour. It was amazing, the trip of a lifetime. We are a family of 5, three children aged 14, 12 & 11 and they had a ball. Beautiful scenery, awesome 4 wheel driving, beautiful campsites, delicious food and two fantastic guides! 10 day Broome to Broom Self Drive Tour This was a trip of a lifetime for us. We are a family of 5, with three children aged 14, 12 and 11. It was all amazing and we were surprised at how much of an adventure it was, not many companies get you right in there like we felt we did. Heath and Angie were great, Heath is a rock star, really chilled and had heaps of knowledge about the region and the off-road stuff. My highlight was driving everywhere (instead of being driven) particularly Harrys hole. The girls loved having Zebidy springs to themselves ( nice move) but every day just got better with all the different walks and water holes Heath took us to , he seemed like he had a flexible itinerary and was keen to show us as much as possible . The Kimberly is a special place and still pretty untouched which is rare nowadays. I have done a lot of travelling and like being out of my comfort zone, but this is the first time doing it rough for my wife and kids. To see my wife swimming through tunnel creek in the pitch black with crocs and bats flying around I would never have seen that coming and is largely down to Heath encouraging everyone but without being pushy to give it a go , he was a legend! My youngest daughter loved it to and was an expert camper by the end, there was another 8 year old girl on the tour to and they are now great mates. The mums both said you probably wouldn't want to take any younger kids than 7 or 8 though as it could be a bit of a challenge for them and the parents, so maybe keep that in mind . We slept at the Billi resort last night which is a great resort and in a comfortable bed, however me and my boy had the worst sleep in 9 days as we wanted to be back in the swags under the stars! I fell in love with my truck in the end (sandy dingus)and it was sad to say goodbye to her at the end of the 10 days. Great trip and go with these guys if you want some adventure and to see the real deal. Please pass on our thanks again to Heath and Angie

Have recently returned from an EPIC 10 day self-drive adventure through the Kimberley after which a fellow traveller commented that there simply aren't enough superlatives to describe just how good it was! Frickin' AWESOME, spectacular, FUN, thrilling, beautiful, cold, wet, sunny, stunning, awe-inspiring, breathtaking and AMAZEBALLS could be a good start...Our guides Heath & Angie are excellent humans who provided us with delicious, nutritious meals, loads of local knowledge, daily laughs and genuine friendship. Heath, Ange (and Tim back in the office) worked overtime to plan alternative routes, campsites and cultural activities when unseasonal wet weather closed the Gibb River Road. Their combined professionalism and total competency in the face of unforeseen curve balls was impressive to say the least. We wouldn't hesitate to travel with Kimberley Adventure Tours again & would recommend them in a heartbeat. Thanks Heath, Angie & Tim xxx

Just back from a 10 day trip with these guys. It was absolutely epic! Without doubt the most magical part of Australia and being able to self drive made the adventure next level. So grateful that I got to do the trip with my kids (8,11,13). We made memories for a lifetime, and loved every minute. Thanks Heath and Angie. You guys rock!

We did a self drive, 10 day tour of the Kimberley with five families and 14 kids. It exceeded all of our expectations. The guides were phenomenal, deeply knowledgeable and just really lovely people. The food was fresh and delicious and the equipment (including the vehicles) was top notch. We also got a chance to visit some really unique and off the track places that made it feel like we were having a real insiders look at this stunning part of the world. This trip was something that I would love to do again and I could hand on heart recommend it to anyone as a really fun, unique and authentic Kimberley’s experience.

In June 2022 we went on a trip of a lifetime! Broome to Darwin via the Gibb River Road and spent the next 14 days with Kimberly Adventure Tours and their amazing guide Shane. There were 5 of us including Shane And we travelled in two Toyota Land Cruisers packed with tents, bedding, table chairs etc along with a great supply of food and drinks. Shane is a very experienced and knowledgeable guide. The trip was incredible with daily “wow” moments. Shane was very organised and had us up early most days to beat the buses into many of the gorges. This meant we also arrived at our camp spots or accommodation earlier in the day so plenty of down time too. A really memorable experience that will stay with us forever. I would not hesitate to travel with Kimberly Adventure Tours again.

Darwin to Broome ADVENTURE My friends and I cannot recommend this tour enough, trip of a lifetime! Niall and Joey were class guides and great craic, couldn't have done more! Niall was very knowledgeable and super positive! They definitely made our trip unforgettable! Although we had a few technical hiccups along the way, they were repaired/replaced/dealt with asap and Niall made quick decisions to ensure we didn't miss out on anything that was on the itinerary. The food was faultless with lots of it and plenty of variety. Everywhere we camped was amazing and the swags and tents provided were great. It is definitely an adventure tour and to get the most out of it you definitely have to be fit and willing to scramble over boulders and walk on uneven surfaces! Every gorge we visited was better than the last and every day became our favourite day! Thanks a million to KAT for the best Kimberly experience!

10 Day Darwin to Broome Tag-A-Long 4WD experience. Coming from Sydney and trying to plan this trip for multiple families and kids (ages 11-16yrs) , i quickly realised the enormity of the challenge. I found Tim's company on TripAdvisor and booked a tag-along 4WD experience with Tim as our guide. Tim was a godsend. He provided all of the gear, food/meals and had expert knowledge of where to go, how to get many of the gorges and sites to ourselves and knew all the best spots to stay along the way. From the get-go everyday was fabulous. We swam in so many different and stunning gorges, did some fun hikes, lots of rock jumping, visited some sacred indigenous art sites, and bathed in hot springs just to name a few of the many diverse experiences. Everyone had a different favourite day: camping on an island in Lake Argle, Edith Falls, Cathedral gorge at Bungle Bungles, the secret cave in tunnel creek, manning gorge, Bell gorge, and zebedee hot springs. Experiencing 4WD Driving through numerous rivers/creeks was also lots of fun. The heli flight over the bungle bungles was also an added highlight.Tim had everything we needed to make our camping experience fun and memorable. Sleeping under the stars in unbelievably comfortable swags was a highlight. The kids loved helping set up camp fire each night and devoured Tim's wonderful meals! We could not imagine doing this trip any other way and it was beyond our expectations. We highly recommend Tim and Kimberley Adventure Tours for making our holiday so memorable.

BEST EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIVES This trip is actually hard to leave a review for because it’s hard to find the words to describe just how special it was…we were left absolutely speechless so much of the trip, filled with awe, wonder and gratitude for being able to experience the magical Kimberley. The Kimberley creates endless adventure and amazingness all on its own that it’s hard to believe the quality of your guide could add much more…BUT TRUST US, it does! Heath was absolutely unreal. His bush skills, campfire cooking skills, positive and solutions-focused attitude, calm demeanour in potentially stressful situations, knowledge of the land (including where to camp, when to visit certain places, knowing station owners and Aboriginal land holders etc.) along the way, and his ability to cater to and provide options for our group (private tag along tour) took the trip from incredible to out of this world. Do yourself a favour and max out your credit cards or take out a loan or just find a way to do this trip!! Only thing I would change is go for longer. We are inspired to get back there as soon as we can on our own. Thank you!

Holiday of a lifetime We recently completed a 10 day private tour from Darwin to Broome down the Gibb River Road tour with Kimberley Adventure Tours, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. May/June is a perfect time for this route as there is a lot of greenery and water flowing in the waterfalls. The scenery was spectacular and we had the most wonderful experiences. The word of our holiday was “wow”!We loved that we had the opportunity to stay in wild bush camps and the serenity that came with it. There’s nothing quite like laying in your swag, looking at the stars and hearing the dingoes howl in the distance.Heath was a fabulous tour guide and was one of the main reasons we had such a wonderful holiday. He was so knowledgeable and knew the best places to camp, the best places to visit and the best time to get there. There was the odd issue with punctures due to the rough road, but that is all part of the adventure. No matter what happened Heath would have a smile on his face and a friendly word for everyone. Every meal was fabulous – everything just tastes better when cooked over an open fire. We all agreed we were incredibly lucky to have Heath as our guide.Thank you Kimberley Adventure Tours and Heath for taking such good care of us and giving us a holiday we will never forget.

Simply fantastic! Our trip (10 Day Darwin to Broome) with Kimberley Adventure Tours (KAT) was simply fantastic. The Kimberley, ie northern WA, is beautiful (but is busier than normal at the moment due to border closures) and more interesting to visit than the west coast, Broome to Perth, based on my recent experience. May, the beginning of the dry season, is simply the best time to visit this region. The obvious highlights of the tour are Bungle Bungle (including the optional helicopter ride), the waterfalls, the campfires, the stars, and the rides along the unsealed roads! Our campsites, in particular, those bush campsites with no facilities, were simply awesome. However, it was our tour guide, Niall, who made this trip ultra-enjoyable and memorable. He was energetic, easy-going, a great cook (oh my his pork crackling camp roast was simply fantastic), and has an ability to gel the group together. There were a few other tour groups travelling with us at the same time with similar itineraries, and ours was simply the one that had the most fun. Our entire group stuck around after the tour finished in Broome as if we were still on tour! Unfortunately, the “extended” tour had to end as many of us had to go home to work. Niall has shown us many hidden gems around the area that was not part of the itinerary, and we got to meet and talk to many locals and traditional owners.I cannot recommend this tour and our guide Niall highly enough for those who want to have a real adventure!

Great way to see The Kimberleys Great trip getting to see the top end of WA including the Bungle Bungles and heaps of gorges for swimming. Had some issues with the bus but our guide Damien dealt with it really well and made sure it didn’t impact the trip. I would definitely recommend this trip to a friend.

Great family fun We booked this tour on a friend’s recommendation after she did the Darwin to Broome one. Al was an incredible guide... funny, knowledgeable and very capable. He clearly explained what he needed from the group and how things would go each day and was very open and honest about all decisions relating to weather/plan changes. We felt very safe and well-looked after at all times and had such a great experience. The food was really excellent, and great vegetarian options were available at every meal. There was plenty of food, the van, swags and equipment were all well Maintained and comfortable and the inclusions and tours etc were all great fun. Fresh water showers were found wherever possible after saltwater swims and bush camping was made as easy as possible for us. Can not recommend this tour highly enough... a great way to see some inaccessible spots of beauty and spend time with a fun bunch of people. Thank you so much, Al... see you for the Kimberley tour at some point!

An extraordinary experience!! We were on the last tour of the season, from Darwin to Broome. It was the tour of a life time, absolutely fantastic! Everything Kimberley adventure tours promised, they delivered. They get you to see nature in its purest form. Being in the mid fifties, we felt safe and cared for. Our guide Sean is just made for this job. He was great fun and has a lot of knowledge about the outback and oh boy, can he cook! We will talk about this amazing trip for many years to come. A new awesome thing every day for 9 days Our trip was late in the season so most of the waterfalls had stopped but we had nearly everywhere to ourselves. This exclusivity was so nice I'm now not sure I'd want to travel any other time, even for waterfalls. Our guide Sean kept us entertained, well fed, on schedule and uneaten by crocs. Thanks Sean.Sleeping in swags was great in the end but it took some adjustment. I should have brought a neck pillow so I could catch up on missed sleep in the truck. The big hike/swim at Manning Gorge was probably the highlight. Or maybe Tunnel Creek. Or the charming Bill Harney. Or chilling in Lake Argyle. Or .. I'm still processing it all actually. I might have to go again!

Our tourguide Zane showed us the most stunning places and really took the effort to teach us things about Outback Australia, it's culture, history & nature. Beyond my expectations! Words of praise fail me...Highly, highly, highly recommend the trip to everyone of every fitness, age and ability! It was such a wonderful experience in every way. The Kimberley is the most beautiful, untouched part of the country and with this tour, we got the full experience of living in the untouched nature. The beauty of the Kimberley is just beyond words.Niall was a exceptional guide. He has an amazing knowledge of everything from the flora to the fauna to the aboriginal tribes also. He was able to answer any of our questions as well as giving us a brilliantly clear overview on everything that we did.Niall’s cooking was amazing too. He never failed to surprise us with his tasty dinners. It’s safe to say, we were well fed at all times. He has a patience too with the group as everyone is of different ages, fitness levels and mentalities so the group worked well as a team, thanks to Niall.Lastly, and most importantly, the fact that we could just lay under a sky full of stars each night, with no light or noise pollution was the highlight. I would encourage all of my friends and family to go on the trip. I enjoyed every single second and would start it all again tomorrow if I could.

Trip of a lifetime! Best trip ever! Thanks KAT and our awesome guide Niall. Everything we had hoped for and more. A true outback experience, camping outdoors, swags under the stars, amazing scenery and many out-of-the-way places most people would not experience. Swimming holes, meeting aboriginal elder Bill Harney, listening to his stories and seeing rock art. Our group of 10 ranged from 23 to 72 years old (me!) and it was an enriching and bonding part of the trip to meet people from all parts of the world, to work together collecting firewood, meal prep and clean.Niall's enthusiasm and passion for the outback, his knowledge and respect for wildlife not to mention his cooking skills (roast pork with crackling in a camp oven; awesome!)helped to make this an unforgettable experience. I'm originally from Melbourne and never been west of Adelaide and my Canadian wife has only been to the east coast of Australia, so from both of us, a huge thanks to the whole team at KAT, especially to Niall.Geoff and Charlotte

Just do it! Highly recommend the tour from Darwin to Broome. Every day is adventure packed and you get to sleep under the stars every night. There is no “room service” so look elsewhere if that’s your kind of trip. The essence of the Kimberley will get into you, dirt under your nails, dry grotty hair and occasionally you get to shower! Be prepared! The hikes over rocks and boulders, in 35 degree heat is well worth it for the swim at the end. Nothing but fresh air and sunshine every day. Our tour guide, Niall, has knowledge of the area and is a wildlife enthusiast. He is well mannered, observant of people in the group, in total control of his vehicle and multi skilled. We certainly felt safe with him in remote areas. Was amazed at his great cooking skills, plenty of food for everybody and he makes a great coffee too! Had loads of fun with other people on the tour, ages ranged from 18 to 50+ we all loved each other’s music and ready to party. The whole experience is so refreshing, a great break from regular life and a great adventure. Don’t hesitate. JUST DO IT!

Amazing Kimberley Experience Seeing this iconic view of Australia is like nothing else I've ever experienced. Sleeping in beautiful Bush camps, surrounded by bilboa trees, waking up with sunrise and seeing all the stars and milky way every night transports you away from your everyday life and leaves you transfixed by the beauty of this land. Miles of red earth, swimming in gorges, the moonscape of lake Argyle, helicoptoring over the bungle bungles. All of it was the highlight! Our host Trent added a whole other layer to this trip, his years of experience and knowledge and passion for the region really shone through. He took every opportunity to maximise this experience for us, from the places we stopped to camp or have lunch, the great food we ate everyday and keeping things on track and in hand no matter what the Kimberley threw at us- always calm and in good humour. This trip is participation based and theres always a task to do (it's part of the fun!), you sleep rough and dont shower much, it's not luxury in the traditional sense but it's part of the adventure and to experience nature like this will leave you will a real sense of gratitude. Thanks Kimberley Adventure tours/Trent for such an amazing experience, cannot recommend them enough!

One of the best decisions was booking this trip! Ended up booking this tour after realising how pricey hiring a 4WD was going to be and I’m so glad I did! The tour ticked off a lot of the must-see places through The Kimberley whilst mostly avoiding the crowds and being as close to nature as possible. A few extra stops were thrown in along the way too which was epic! Our tour guide Niall was an absolute legend (despite his pronunciation of Broome and Billabong 😂) and was very chilled out and knowledgeable (particularly about the local fauna which inhabits the area you’re swagging in at night - cheers Niall 👍🏼). To top it off, the group were all awesome, up for experience and made the trip very entertaining! After 9 days of endless adventures, bonfires, countless shooting stars, fresh air and fresh water swims with a few freshies, it’s safe to say The Kimberley’s is a pretty special place! Better ‘wrap’ this up - thanks for making the trip what it was and for giving us a taste of the true Kimberley experience!

9 Day Broome to Darwin The trip was a fabulous experience of both the KImberley's and the Northern Territory. Very enjoyable to sleep under the stars every night and to do some things I would never have dreamt of being able to do. The scenery is incredible. We were very lucky to have Trent as our "super guide". Darwin to Broome - Awesome / Exciting / Fun!! Wow Wow Wow!!! Just completed the ''Kimberley Adventure Tours'' Darwin to Broome 9 day adventure which far exceeded all my holiday expectations :)So fortunate we had Tour Guide Niall Cook who shared a phenomenal depth of knowledge and connection with this unique Kimberley area with our group. As a 'city girl' I was looking for a Kimberley outback adventure holiday and I wasn't disappointed. I especially appreciated Niall's yummy camp fire cooking skills, patience with our endless questions, and encouragement when facing bush challenges! There were so many highlights, and a few worth mentioning include:- swimming in magnificent cool billabongs - warming up in front of a roaring camp fire in remote locations- star gazing each night whilst snuggled in my swag, counting shooting stars- Lake Argyle cruise/ dips & crackers 'adventure style'/ camping on a remote private island- viewing and learning about various Aboriginal rock art sites and their significance- treks through majestic ancient gorges- Tunnel Creek night visit :) :) :)- overall fun and mayhem with our diverse group- terrific music on the road, making the travel journeys enjoyable singing timeExcellent and highly recommended tour - HUGE Thank You Niall !!

Excellent trip! My partner and I took this tour together, when we booked this tour, we did not know what to expect, and how we can cope for 9 days camping and 13 peoples in the bus. Well, we absolutely loving it. Sleeping in the swag was a great way to see the stars, every night the sky was so stunning. It was good fun with the group, the best way of meeting people from Australia and overseas. Trent, our guide is very knowledgeable and professional. He also a very good cook. I loved the bush tucker and the camp fire. Even learned the way of camp fire cooking. The journey was incredible, everyday view was magnificent from morning to night. Although we got three flat tyres and a fail battery during the trip. I leaned to change a tyre which I never change one in my life.Best Regards,Poh Photos below courtesy of Trent.

The Amazing Kimberley The tour conducted by Kimberley Adventure Tours was phenomenal, largely thanks to our incredible guide, Heath, and a very congenial group of fellow travellers. Heath's knowledge of the region's flora, fauna, and geology, combined with his bush camping skills, enhanced our experience tremendously. And he did an admirable job of helping the group appreciate the Aboriginal presence in the Northern Territory and the Kimberley. Favorite activities included enjoying hidden swimming holes (and jumping from rocks into them), exploring the wonders of Purnululu National Park (home of the Bungle Bungles), and experiencing night skies unpolluted by city lights (although we did have the moon to deal with!). Be prepared to be adaptable (truck trouble can happen) and pitch in with camp work (setting up and striking camp, meal prep and clean up): it''s all part of the experience.Highly recommend!!

Great “kids ok” trip with Sean Travelled with our 9 and 10 year old daughters who had never been camping before on a “kids ok” Darwin to Broome tour with a group ranging in age from 9 to 74. It was amazing. Our guide Sean was great and catered for all abilities and personalities really well. His cooking was second to none with the camp oven honey soy chicken a hit with the kids and roast pork with crackling and all the trimmings a hit with all. We came expecting spectacular natural beauty and were not disappointed. The aboriginal rock art, culture and stories were an added bonus. Favourites were Purnululu for the sheer scale of the place. Bill’s place for the history snd his amazing storytelling. Manning Gorge for the great walk in and rock jumps was a favorite for water loving kids as was Bell Gorge. The bush camps under the stars in swags away from crowds was a great getaway from the city. You get exactly what the brochure says - not luxury but an absolutely amazing experience and would highly recommend for those with kids and a sense of adventure. Kids (and adults) who don’t like getting dirty will be over it by day 2!Finishing the tour in Broome was great with a Cable Beach sunset and Broome is a great place for a few relaxing days at the end of an action packed trip.

An incredible journey with a sensational guide Sunrise over the waters of Lake Argyle from your swag, beautiful sunrise walks, swims in crystal waters surrounded by incredible scenery as old as the earth, gorgeous displays of birds and animals, meeting other lovely travel minded individuals, the amazing secret rock art locations, rare private talks with aboriginal elders and station manager mates and secluded camps next to remote billabongs which come from Trent's unique knowledge, skills and many years of guiding throughout the area. You will eat too much, you will eventually get into your swag with dirty feet and it will take at least two showers to get clean at the end....but I can not recommend this journey through the Kimberley enough with Kimberley Adventure Tours for anyone looking for a truly incredible, unique adventure that you will never forget.

Definitely a trip of a lifetime, highly recommended!! Wow what a trip and what an amazing place the Kimberley is. We travelled from Darwin to Broome on the family friendly tour (3 families with 6 kids in total aged between 7-12) with Heath who was the most amazing tour guide. Heath was exceptional in the way he interacted with the kids on tour and his knowledge and obvious passion for the country he was navigating us through was outstanding. We all felt we were part of something special. Amazing scenery, bush camping in fabulous locations, delicious camp food which we all pitched into make including a roast and yummy chocolate cake. We became a well drilled team in setting and breaking camp each day. Sleeping in swags under the stars and awaking with first light ready to take on another day full of wonderful gorges, swimming holes, rope swings, rock jumping, croc spotting, learning about the land and aboriginal culture. Stunning red earth, plenty of dust (you soon learn to embrace the dirt with kids wearing their dirty clothes as a badge of honour) and bumpy roads but that just added to the adventure and we loved every moment. Thank you Heath for helping to make memories which will definitely last a lifetime!

The wonderful Kimberly! We just got back from the wonderful Kimberly's.Our exceptional guide Trent who has a wonderful diverse knowledge of the area, flora and fauna wasn’t kidding when he greeted us with “this will be the cleanest you will be until we get to Broome”. So the adventure and a fun time began. Loved swimming with the freshies, the many interesting hard and ruff walks were a challenge but having some level of fitness, we loved it. Sleeping in swags with the wonderful stars above and seeing this beautiful region was just wonderful. The bush tucker was great to try but Trent’s cooking was so good that we were asking for recipes. It was easy to pitch in and help with the setup, food preparation, cleaning up and collecting firewood.Thank you Trent for making this trip so wonderful and memorable.Peter and Dawn

Trip of a lifetime! I’ve just completed the 9 day tour from Darwin to Broome with my two boys (11 and 8). It was amazing! Trent was our guide and he was exceptional. With an obvious passion for what he does, he really did make this trip an amazing experience - always positive, enthusiastic, and keen to share his knowledge with the group - we learnt a lot! This tour will take you to some truly incredible places. Be prepared for early starts and big days, lots of dust, bumpy roads, heaps of fun, amazingly beautiful scenery, lots of swimming, big walks, crocs (of course!), stunning sunsets, shooting stars... and some seriously delicious food. Go with an open mind and an adventurous spirit. This was the trip of a lifetime for us.

Fantastic Trip! We completed this fantastic trip on 9th July. Our wonderful guide Trent went out of his way to ensure that we had the best experience possible, visiting amazing sites, finding lovely camping sites away from the crowds where we enjoyed swims, great food and sleeps under the stars. An altogether unforgettable experience that I would recommend to anyone that is fit and healthy enough as there are some long walks and climbing on rocks. Helen and Trevor Vella

Perth to Darwin It was an amazing adventure , a taste of beautiful wilderness . A lot more rock climbing/ scrambling and swimming than I expected. The guides were excellent and knowledgeable, great drivers. The campsites after Broome were better because they were in amazing spots away from the tourists! Sleeping in a swag was great once it got warmer, getting used being waking at dawn and being covered in orange dust was part of it .Thankyou for so many wonderful moments

Lots of fun in the Kimberleys 13 old friends banded together to do the adventure tour. We were ably led by Sean who soon worked out the over 65s needed some TLC as well as challenging fun. We loved it all - the stunning vistas, amazing nightskies, beautiful billabongs, river and the lake for cooling swims as well as the walks over fascinating landscapes. Meeting with Bill was a extra bonus. It was all so different from what we have experienced in NZ. A must-do trip. Thanks Sean for safe driving, excellent guiding, flexible planning and wonderful fresh food throughout the trip. We enjoyed your Ocker approach to life.

Great 9 day trip In June I joined this great tour through the Kimberley. What a great experience! Sleeping in swags, looking at the stars, eating amazing food which was prepared at the campfire; it all contributed to perfect camping trip. If you're up for an adventure and if you like camping, then I can highly recommend this tour. I would like to give special thanks to our tourguide Trent. We could not have wished for a more enthusiastic, funny, perfectly organised and listening tourguide! He had great knowledge of the area, animals and culture. He managed to adapt to all the different travellers in our group and made everyone feel comfortable. Apparently, something was wrong with our vehicle, and Trent and the company decided to drive in a new vehicle for us, just to be sure we were able to continue our trip as planned. The guy who brought our truck had to drive more than 4 days in total, because we were in such a remote area. This shows to me that Kimberley Adventures really cares about its customers and the experience it wants to give them. Thanks again to Trent and Tim, and to Carlya for the great and fast service from the office. This tour is definitely worth the 5 stars!

Awesome adventure Just completed 9 days Broome to Darwin. It was a fantastic trip and was really well organised. Trent was the best guide. He had spectacular private camp sites every night, he was considerate of everyone, a great driver and a great cook! He also had lots of local information to share. If you want to get a real feel for the Kimberley’s then this trip is it. Swags under the the stars every night and camp fires. Don’t expect hot showers or luxury but the truck had everything we needed. Expect to pitch in and help with camp chores. So many highlights to experience it is difficult to mention them all- lots of swimming, not so many long hikes as I expected but spectacular scenery and I enjoyed every minute. Great variety of activities and although we had great distances to travel it was always split up with rest stops which even included coffee stops! Some roads were very rough but that was all part of the trip. I am older age (62) but don’t let that stop you if you are reasonably fit and in for an adventure!! I would do it all again!!

Defenitely recommended This trip was amazing. Sleeping in swags, bushcamping, campfires and beautiful places. The tourguide Trent was greatg. He makes sure everybody has a wonderfull time. He is very patience, calm and clear about everything. He knows a lot about nature and aboriginal art. Next to that, he is a very good cook! At one time there was something wrong with the truck. It was still working, but Trent had some worries about it so another partner from the organisation came all the way up to our location with a new truck. Great service! Thanks for all. I defenitely recommend this trip, for all ages if you like adventure and sleeping in swags.

Amazing way to experience some amazing country This tour is a great way to experience the adventure of travelling across some of the most remote and beautiful parts of Australia. We spent 9 days with 8 others and our tour guide Nicko camping open air in swags in areas that you could never organise yourself including on aboriginal communities land and on an island in Lake Argyle which, for me, was definitively the highlight of the trip. Nicko was a great tour guide as well as being the provider of great meals - particularly dinners around a campfire with a few beers after a long day of walking and swimming through gorges - all set a soundtrack of one particular song by the Waifs which became the unofficial anthem of our trip. Thanks Nicko and Kimberley adventures for an unforgettable experience.

TRIP OF A LIFETIME We have just completed this trip and it has every wow factor you could imagine, Trent our guide was extraordinary and so were the other travellers. This trip is not for the faint hearted there is plenty of climbing, swimming, cooking, setting up and packing down, however the whole group gets in and works as a team. We were never bored for a moment even on the long drives, there are frequent stops at road houses for toilets and coffees etc during the day. We are still on a high a week after our tour finished . Let someone else drive and worry about the food, where to sleep and everything else, you just need to participate and enjoy yourself.

A wonderful experience Our group of nine has just completed the nine day Darwin to Broome adventure with Kimberley Adventure Tours (KAT). Rough, rugged and wonderful. Camping in the beautiful, ancient Kimberley wilderness in our swags, getting up every morning at sunrise to head out to gorges, falls, stations - I have done nothing like it.Highlights were Emma Falls, Purnululu National Park, and meeting Elder Bill Harney on his land, where he showed us rock drawings and carvings, and got us all to dance. Our calm ,capable and knowledgeable guide Trent, driver, head cheffer, labourer and manager all-in-one, ensured that we ate well, worked hard, had fun, and got to all the special places before everyone else.Highly recommended.

Adventuring in good hands This 9 day tour through the Kimberley had us collecting firewood, helping with cooking and cleaning, sleeping in swags under the stars in locations remote from showers and toilets and other amenities. Good planning and preparation by KAT (represented by uber guide, Trent) mean't lots of good quality, fresh food and water, contributing to comfort in discomfort.Trent had us up early most mornings so that we had the experience of being alone in awe inspiring locations such as Cathedral Gorge and the 700 metre caverns of Tunnel Creek. Priveleged access to community lands led to multiple rock art sites and explanations by Trent or a local elder.High level aerobic fitness is not necessary for this trip, but a modicum of strength, flexibility and balance are essential as there is a lot of rockhopping in the heat to reach many of the destinations, including spectacular swimming holes. Trent's unobtrusive energy kept everything going and his, calm respect for the environment, the local people and all living things, even including cane toads and tour participants, helped build a good feeling in the group. Thanks, Trent and and fellow travellers who were all friendly and tolerant of each other.

Private 10 day charter We have just finished an amazing 10 day trip through the Kimberley with this company. We had great experiences and did things we would not do on our own without the comfort factor of a really competent guide - for example, walking through the caves at Tunnel Creek carefully watched by fresh water crocs. The itinerary was very well arranged, including a night camping on remote island in Lake Argyll. To sleep under the stars on swags was a new experience and I enjoyed heping with the camp fire and cooking. This is a hands on adventure.

Life changer! Our trip from Darwin to Broome with Kimberly Adventures was a life changer. We have a new appreciation for this stunning majestic land, it’s history and it’s people. The group agreed that it was our guide, Trent, that made our trip the incredible experience it was. Trent has the knack for bringing out the best in the individual while uniting the group. The team spirit that developed between the diverse group over 9 days was a highlight. Trent generously shared his wealth of knowledge of the Kimberly it’s geography, geological history, indigenous life past and present, flora and fauna and bushman ingenuity. His respect for all of these things is contagious. He had a new adventure for us each day, a water hole, gorge, lake, hot spring, a swim, a rock hopping adventure or hike. And the man can cook! A delicious open fire feast for both vegetarians and meat eaters every night before settling in to watch the biggest screen of all, the Milky Way. The trip was not without its contingencies and Trent eased through any problems with calm confidence. Even our 4th flat tire, no phone reception and a wet satellite phone kilometres from civilisation couldn’t phase him or keep him from getting us to our rendezvous with sunset on Cable Beach.

Amazing We did the Broome Darwin tour with our guide Trent. We were a group of 11 . We all agreed to say that it was just an incredible journey through the Kimberley. Trent knew few places where we were the only ones to access. We discovered aboriginal arts in some remoted caves. We swam in rivers. We slept on an uninhabited island on Lake Argyle. Trent always was on top of his game. We can't thank him enough for his professionalism his knowledge and also for his amazing cooking skills!! We can't wait to go on another tour with him.

Incredible! We're a married 31 year old couple and did the 9 day group trip from Broome to Darwin. We had an amazing time! The trip is full of adventure, challenges and natural beauty. Having lived in Sydney for 4 years prior, we hadn't done anything too adventurous apart from long full day hikes, so saw this as a great chance to push ourselves. The daily walks (we didn't find them difficult) and swims are truly breathtaking at times. It's like different little bits of paradise every day. Our favourite was Manning Gorge. We were a little apprehensive about sleeping in swags out in the wild and possible animals, bugs, etc but it was great! No real problems. Sleeping under the stars and having a camp fire every night was amazing. The swags can get warm but they have a thin mattress in them and are comfy enough. You'll get out of the trip what you put in. Expect to be pretty dirty and dusty at all times.Bring a fly net! Although we only really found it a problem in the mornings. Bring bug spray for nighttimes. Bring wet shoes for some of the swims. Luckily we bought a pair the day before in Broome. Our group ranged from 18 year olds to us being the oldest at 31. I did think at first oh no we're a bit older, but it was fine and fun getting to know people from different parts of the world. We met some lovely people who made the trip so much fun. We had Damo (Damien) as our guide who was great! The amount of effort and work he put in to make it all run smoothly and safely was unbelievable. The food he cooked every night was delicious - ranged from stir fry to a full on roast dinner on the fire to a Michelin starred risotto! He also had some great games for us to play around the fire each night. He also made sure we all met up when we arrived in Darwin for some food and drinks. I will say that the guides aren't super human, so do help out with things like setting up camp, helping prepare lunches, gather wood, etc. It's part of the fun!All in all, one of the best trips we've ever done.

Just do it No, this is not going to be an ad for NIKE, but my answer for any concerns you have considering to explore the Kimberley. Don’t worry about the camping (swags come with a good mattress, just bring warm cloths for the night), about the limited facilities (no toiletries are much more hygienic than public toilets), about the mozzies (just bring a spray and a fly net), or about the food (our guide Niall is a great cook and we had really good steaks on a private island in lake argyle, Spaghetti Bolognese in the bungles etc. Gluten free meals are not a problem!). So, just do it and go for the experience! It’s magical and a trip that I will always remember as a very special one! You will be so surprised how awesome it is when there is no internet reception in days! Cheers to Niall, a very experienced tour guide who knows the region, the flora and fauna very well. Could not imagine a better guide for that tour! But please, when you decide to just do it - don’t complain about the weather ;) Cheers, Feli

10 Day private tour from Darwin to Broome Once in a lifetime experience. When researching The Kimberly my eye fell on Kimberly Tours because they offered private tours catered to your specific needs. With two small children, 6 & 4 years old, and with no outback experience whatsoever this sounded like the ideal solution. A bit nervous we started our adventure but with the help of Heath, our guide for 10 days. Heath knows the area inside out. He took us to places we would have never found ourselves. He is very knowledgeable, sociable and was just amazing with our kids. There were lots of tears from the boys at the end saying goodbye. And myself? I haven’t quite landed in the ‘real’ world yet and I’m sad it’s over. Luckily we have our wonderful memories and we even might buy a swag ourselves and looking at the stars will never be the same. Just one note regarding the age of our kids. The trip worked really well. We didn’t adjust any of the hikes but we took our time and our kids do like adventure hiking. the more rocks the better. But we did add a day to the standard 9 day trip. This gave us a bit more time and an afternoon at a sandy gorge. And we used the driving to get some extra sleep in. I cannot recommend this trip, or Heath as a guide, highly enough

Amazing tour, brilliant tour guides I booked the 20 day Perth to Darwin tour not knowing what I was getting myself into and had the best time ever!Early in the morning I got picked up by 2 tour guides Cabsy and Zee. We were a small group of 5 people and 2 tour guides so we bonded quite quickly. The tour guides were very knowledgable and answered all of our questions the best they could. Every day was an adventure, whether it was exploring beautiful gorges, sitting in the bus playing games, collecting firewood or getting the dinner ready. I have to say Cabsy’s dinners were delicious and she has some master skills to be able to cook on fire like that. Cabsy and Zee went out of their way the whole time for us and they truly made the trip unforgettable. Thank you! The second part of the trip started in Broome with our new tour guide Duffman. I heard a lot of good things about him and I definitely wasn’t dissapointed. He was so knowledgable about all the places we visited. He took an amazing care of us through the whole trip, and his dinners were out of this world, he has some pro skills with cooking on fire. We also had a little accident with our trailer on the way and he handled it so well with such a positive attitude. Every single day was just amazing, full of adventure and beautiful nature and swimming spots. I wish I could still be on the tour with all the amazing people I met. This was definitely an experience of a lifetime and I thank you guys so much for providing such an amazing tour.

Trip of a lifetime I came on this trip as a single backpacker and left with friends for life! Kimberley adventure tours shouldn’t be proud of themselves for creating such an itinerary and the hiring of the main man DUFFMAN!!! Duffman was our leader for the whole duration, full of knowledge and completely genuine and humble! If you are lucky enough to have him too then you are super lucky because he will look after you as his own. There are so many highlights of this trip and just thinking about this experience back in May makes me feel sad that it is over and how I miss everyone so much. It was honestly the time of my life. Lake argyle was spectacularly beautiful and had so much fun rock jumping with our skipper for the day MITCH!!! Mitch is a young lad but again full of knowledge and a great guy to have around for company. If you want to meet like minded people and come together as a family for a few weeks, camping in a tent or swag, cooking your dinner on a real fire each night, swimming through gorges and being in the most remote areas of WA then 100% this trip is for you and a really good price. Thank you for a life changing trip. Duffman you are a hero, you deserve more credit than life. I’m a 27, solo, English backpacker.

Epic trip! I just finished a tour from Broome to Darwin and I must say it was one of the best tours I’ve done so far! I’m always a bit nervous to meet the group because you never know whether or not you will like the people. I was blessed! I was able to do this tour with a bunch of crazy, lovely, awesome people! It was a tour I will remember for the rest of my life. The guys on this tour and the tour guide made this tour. It was quite hot so our tour guide tried to give us as many swim stops as possible so we could cool down, thanks! The food was amazing, the hikes were great. I would so do this trip again with the same people and same tour guide!! Keep in mind that you don’t know who is going to be in your tour, you might like the people or you may not like them, but there is not much you can do about that. My piece of advice: try to make the best out of it and enjoy! Thanks Guys and Heath to give me one of the best nine days in my life! Peace and love

Nine Day Broome to Darwin Trip Having already completed a 10 day tour with sister company Heading Bush, I was so impressed that I booked a 20 day tour, half with West Adventure Tours and half with Kimberly Adventure Tours. With Heading Bush we spent almost every night at real bush camps, did challenging hikes and learned a lot about Aboriginal Culture. The first leg of the 20 day tour operated by West Adventure Tours was not as intense, but still very much worth the time and money. See my 5-star reviews on both companies. The itinerary and guide for Kimberly Adventure Tours were also top-notch. Our guide, Heath, was better organized and made better food than his collegues at Heading Bush and West Adventure Tours. It is incredible that he kept us on schedule considering the ground we covered. I wish he emphasized Aboriginal culture more during the nine days. I also wish we camped more in private bush camps way off the beaten path more, as we had done with Heading Bush and West Adventure Tours, but the October heat and access to these kind of camps were limiting factors. Bush camping during early wet season rains is not my idea of fun. The main disappointment however was the binge drinking by most others on the tour. That factor alone made this bush camping tour as authentic as Olivia Newton-John’s wrinkle-free face. Even Heath said he’d never seen a group drink so much. It was so extreme that I almost left after five days. This was not a bush tour. This was not even a tour for backpackers. It was a tour for alcoholics. If I wanted to see a bunch of people get insanely drunk I could just go to any bar in W.A. after the AFL Finale. I can kick back a six pack of good craft beer by a campfire with the best of them, and certainly did so during my tours with Heading Bush and West Adventure Tours, but the binge drinking during this leg made me feel very uncomfortable. Especially disappointing was that much of the rapport developed with the other four that started the journey from Perth was ruined after picking up eight others in Broome, when the party and drinking component became unbalanced. I began wondering if these people should join Keith Urban or Ben Stokes during their next rehab stint? They didnt seem to value much else than getting their grog on. One physician commented how she was drinking so much she was having problems with cognitive abilities, but still wanted a beer after breakfast. Beer-thirty is a good thing, but when it comes at six-thirty in the morning, or when a 30-something year-old physician is vomiting in the fire pit at El Questro, your group may have a drinking problem. After this crew, Heath is qualified to be a nanny or manage an rehab facility for alcoholics. In fact he may see some of this crew as future patients. To avoid some of the pitfalls that dampened the experience, I suggest to not do this tour in October. It’s just too hot and rains can come at any time. And if you can muster up some other friends, do a private tour. This way you will not have to deal with the binge drinking drama, wondering if some hungover person sitting next to you will vomit on you.

Spectacular scenery knowledgable guide amazing adventure. I had such a great tour with this company. I was hesitant at first that my fitness could be an issue but I didn't want to miss out on anything. I didn't need to worry as I was able to choose to participate in as few or many activities as I liked. There are so many spots to choose from as well so I'm pleased our guide Heath picked them. His food was really good and there was always enough. His bush tucker that he showed us was less tasty!!!The lake argyll sunset cruise and the early morning bungle bungles were beautiful and well worth the long days. Bear in mind that you rise with the sun so if you are not a morning person you may need a nap or two! I didn't want this trip to end but at least I will be keeping in touch with my fellow tourists.

Awesome Outback Adventure An awesome great adventure. Our first Gibb River trip and first time sleeping in swags. We enjoyed every moment of this s trip. Every day had new beautiful surroundings and gorges to explore. Swimming in nature, rising with sun, sitting around the camp fire( bush TV ) and sleeping under the stars was a great experience. Duffman was a cool and very informative guide. His knowledge off the fauna and flora and the aboriginal culture was excellent. Don’t know were he gets his energy from, driving all day, guiding us through the most awesome gorges and cook amazing food on the fire every night. Watching him night after night is like watching a master class in gourmet bush food. The amazing Mitch from Lake Argyle Cruises made our Island overnight stay even more special. If you don’t have a 4 wheel drive and camper trailer and want to do the Gibb River Road this is the one!!! Even if you have one this comes highly recommended!!!!

9 Day Darwin to Broome Adventure Entire adventure was fantastic and would highly recommend it to those who like adventure, camping outdoors and pitching in. The Kimberly poses challenges but our competent tour guide, Niall took it all in his stride. He also cooks a great menu, is very knowledgeable of the topography, wildlife and Indigenous culture. A truly nice bloke, nothing is too much bother for him. He treated us to many highlights such as Lake Argyle, the Bungle Bungles (helicopter flight wonderful), Emma Falls, Manning Gorge, Bell Gorge, Tunnel Creek to name a few. We had a great time with like minded people. Beautiful!

Amazing sights and fun times! We had an awesome trip, in amongst a few breakdowns and vehicle mishaps (read: broken aircon on a 40 degree day!)! Niall was super-calm, knowledgeable and very fun! Thanks for helping us tick Darwin and Broome off our bucket-lists! It was a trip we’ll remember forever!

Kimberly Tour 2018 Fantastic tour. While we did have trailer problems along the way ...... that is the adventure of the Kimberly. Highlights -Bungle Bungles ( Helicopter flight is well worth the cost) Manning Gorge (bring water shoes) Rock ArtThis tour is not for not for everyone as it is basic camping under the stars, but the best way to see our amazing country

Absolutely worth it!! Where to start, to describe this incredible tour...All the things you can read in the description are 100% correct. If you decide to go on this trip, which you should, you will have the best experience in Australia. Prepare your self for a out of your comfort zone experience without showers, toilets, reception and extrem bumpy roads. But what you get is so much worth it. Camp fires every night, sleeping in swags under the stars, amazing hikes, swimming in incredible gorges, breathtaking landscapes and the best food you ever had on a fire. Our tour guide, Duffman, took care of us all the time. His knowledge about the flora and fauna and the history of the Kimberleys is amazing. And he is probably the best cook you can find in the bush :DWe had a small group of 9 people and I can say, that strangers become family on this trip. Thanks to Kimberley Adventure Tours for making this experience happen. I would do it again anytime!!

Awesome experience - Must do! Travelling solo is not always easy, especially if travel in more remote places. Doing the tour from Broome to Darwin with Kimberley Adventure Tours was the best decision I could have made. Our guide Niall was not only incredibly experienced he also has an imense knowledge about flora and fauna in the area and we shared always a good laugh. Sleeping under a 1000 stars, walking in breathtakingly beautiful gorges and refreshing ourselfs in nature pools. There is an adventure on every corner and you will most certainly have the best Kimberley experience possible. Thanks to all the incredible people on the tour and to Niall and the Kimberley Adventure Tours team to make this all possible!

Amazing adventure Every day from Broome to Darwin was an action packed adventure. The tour was lead by our exceptional tour guide Niall who was so competent in his knowledge about the Kimberlys and the surrounding wildlife. He was always professional and cooked up a great feed every evening! We were initially worried if we were able to handle the heat, however the structure of the day always catered for this and there was plenty of swimming most days which was always refreshing! Would definitely recommend this trip to all who seek adventure and want to see real Australia in it's most raw and natural state.

A True Australian Adventure There is not a lot of Australia left that offers the raw and untamed beauty of the Kimberly. This tour is a great way to get the real Australian adventure. From sleeping under the stars in a swag to cooking on a camp fire it doesn't get any better. Our tour guide Niall, has a real passion for the Kimberly and it's indigenous heritage. His knowledge of the local culture and art is outstanding. Not to mention his love of reptiles, especially snakes made us all feel a little safer. The roast dinner Niall cooked on the campfire was one of the best I have ever eaten, a great way too finish off a day of hiking and swimming in a beautiful gorge. This was an amazing holiday spent with a terrific guide and great friends, new and old. I would certainly recommend the tour to anyone who loves the outdoors and doesn't mind pitching in to help out. The only down side was a few truck break downs that wasted some of our sightseeing time.

Escape to nature in the beautiful Kimberleys How lucky we were to escape Melbournes winter for 9 days of consistent sunshine and warmth, with the added bonus of the moon at its biggest and best. If you like to really experience the outback and what it has to offer, with no frills, this is the trip for you. Our group voted the best toilet spot the one built out in the open with stunning views over the Cockburn Ranges! Getting down and dirty each day collecting firewood and setting up each campsite was a pleasure, not a chore, and we were rewarded with great campsites exclusively ours, awesome meals (thanks chef Duffman) and stunning scenery throughout. With only one chance for a "proper" shower, many on our tour decided the swims in the "gorgeous" gorges were preferable, no soap required! I was unsure about sleeping out with just a swag, but i now miss my night's tucked up next to those stunning boab trees. How lucky we were to experience the magic of the Kimberleys with a great group of like minded travellers, respecting the land and its people, learning so much from Bill Harney, a highlight for me. Many thanks to Carlya, Duffman and Tim, for making this trip happen, i have many special memories and stories to recount and share. Your trip is unique, dont change your formula!

Adventure of a Lifetime I took the nine-day Darwin to Brome tour, along with 12 others (aged from 18 to 72) plus our guide (Duffman) and driver (Carlya), ending last week. It was quite simply an experience of a lifetime! I know that my great friend Erik, who travelled from Sweden especially to do this trip, feels the same. The Adventure was made all the more special by Duffman and Carlya, two wonderful human beings. It's been quite a while since I have met someone like Duffman. He is an inspirational character, full of energy and passion and heart! So many talents! The places we saw were just amazing. I have fallen in love with the Kimberley. How can one not? The tour was special in that there was always something different. The places we visited were well chosen. I loved sleeping under the stars and greatly appreciated going off the beaten tracks to find some of our campsites. At the Pentecost River campsite with the Cockburn Range as a backdrop, I found a peace I have not found in many years. The helicopter ride over the Bungle Bungles was simply stunning. The gorges along the Gibb River Road were beautiful, with probably Bell Gorge being my favourite. Walking in the water in the caves of Tunnel Creek with crocodiles around was exciting. Listening to Dream Stories with Bill Harney and looking at the art on his Country was a real honour. The experience touched my soul. Even the 'adversities' added to our Adventure in a positive way. The sense of camaraderie when we got bogged for 90 minutes, when we got stuck on a stone, and when parts of our transport needed 'fixing'. No one seemed concerned, it was just part of the journey. The food was excellent. Chef Duffman's cooking done over the campfire was amazing. There was plenty of food and it was very tasty. Not being able to shower for nine days - not a problem at all. One just got used to it - and swam in the gorges. As for toilets, again not a problem. We were lucky in having a great 'team' who bonded well quickly. Of course that process was facilitated by Duffman and Carlya, and by our experiences. Erik called the trip a saga, one we would never forget. I am sure all my fellow travellers would agree. And the price for the tour is very reasonable... in fact it is a bargain.I knew this trip would be special... I just didn't know how special.

Epic scenery, big distances, wonderful tour They don’t lie in their advertising. This was an adventure from day one. Although things didn’t always go to plan, the tour company handled the issues well. Our guide (Niall) gave us a real feel for the country and it felt more like a camping trip with friends rather than an regimented, time focus tour. Camping under the stars each night, most nights away from camping grounds and other tours, meant we had unique experience every day. Meals most nights where done on a campfire which just added to the great experience.I can not think of a better way to see this part of the continent in such a short time. This was probably the best tour i’ve ever done.

Frontier Adventure I'm getting around a little late to writing this review of a trip we did in May this year. The north-western part of Australia is perhaps its last frontier, populated by slightly wild, self-motivated individuals including our guides and those of the other tour groups we met. We were fortunate in having two guides - Niall who was experienced and Mick who was being familiarised with the tour program. Niall was knowledgeable about the natural environment and, particularly, the local Aboriginal culture, and Mick was highly competent mechanically. We did suffer a breakdown which was unforeseeable and entirely the responsibility of the vehicle service provider, yet Mick improvised a temporary repair and we were swiftly back on the road. The full repair was undertaken by the service company while we were touring and camping on Lake Argyle under the guidance of Mitch, a local boat operator who was another of these somewhat wild Northern individuals, very young but massively experienced and competent. This camp was one of many we experienced in little-known remote areas, sometimes next to serene billabongs, once high on a remote ridge which we arrived at after dark, the truck carrying us and pulling its trailer up a steep old track so rough that, with the motor barely above idle in 1/6 compound low range, we were still being tossed around inside, much to everybody's enjoyment and amusement. We are an older couple who enjoy the outdoors but tend to take it a bit easy and look around while walking. We found that we sometimes fell behind on the walks, but the others would periodically wait for us and take in their surroundings. Most often the walks led to a beautiful swimming hole at the base of a waterfall. None were really long. We would usually arrive later than the others, have a nice swim and leave earlier. On other occasions we were happy to stop at a pleasant location along the way. At all times our guides were aware of what we were doing and where we were so that our safety was always assured. In fact, they were safety-conscious in all aspects. In this way everyone had enjoyable experiences. We felt that the mix of ages promoted the group's harmony. Apart from the guides and us, the group included a strong, energetic middle-aged man and four young twentiesh people. The tour was not one where we sat back while tour staff ministered to our wants. Everyone pitched in so that the camps were set up, meals were prepared and cleaned up after and camps were packed up with the greatest efficiency and camaraderie. We were under the stars every night and, except for one stay at a fire-restricted area we had a big fire every night. The guides displayed their culinary skills so that we had a different meal every night - including a roast, green curried chicken and rice, nachos, pasta, a barbecue - always as much as we could eat. There were no really lazy days. There was so much distance to cover and so many things to see and do. We had early starts before dawn and late ones, early arrivals at camp sites and ones after sunset, early and late lunches, long days of driving (but always with at least one walk) and days where less distance was covered. The weather was always mild so that it was possible to spend a lot of time just in our swimsuits. The Kimberley area is vast and colourful, always with an intense blue sky during our tour which contrasted with the rich reds of the cliffs. It is mostly dry country but contains these hidden lush gorges and rocky chasms. The Bungle Bungles are every bit as spectacular as you'd expect - on a par with anything else in the world. But every other part of the tour was extraordinary too. There was more Aboriginal rock art, from two different historical periods, than we had expected, much of which is actually maintained by the local people so that its meaning is still understood. We had encounters with some interesting wildlife: brumbies at Warmun road house (not so much wild as stand-offish), a couple of Olive Pythons, a very tame Merton's Water Monitor at the Gibb River crossing, Greater Bower-Birds with an actual bower at Windjana Gorge. We surely did need a bit of a rest at the end but the tour never became dull or tiresome. On the contrary it was exciting and interesting from start to finish. We will always have vivid memories of our outback adventure in such good company.

Amazing family adventure in the Kimberley Wow what a trip. This was an amazing family adventure enabled by the brilliant Beno. We were a bit worried about the kids who were 6 and 7 being able to do it. They had an amazing Time. Beno encouraged them the whole way with great humour and such a great sense of fun and adventure. Each camp seemed to surpass the last. The great gorge walks and swimming spots just kept on coming. From meeting indigenous elder Bill Harney, camping at real wilderness spots to jumping into crystal clear water at beautiful gorges I can't recommend this trip highly enough. Thanks to Beno and the team at KAT they are the best at what they do.

Best ever I'd wanted to do this for 2 years and had spent ages trying to pick between the various companies and options available - and I'm so glad I chose Kimberley Adventure tours. The group was small, and our guide (Duffman) was always enthusiastic, capable, prepared, and willing to put in that extra bit of effort to accommodate different people. It never felt like a mass bus tour - more like a small bunch of friends travelling together in an oversized 4WD. The roads were sometimes bumpy and long, but the stunning landscapes, the wilderness campsites, and the sleeping out under clear starry skies made everything worthwhile. This truly felt like an adventure, and is quite possibly one of the best things I've ever done. My teenage daughter and I didn't want to come home, and I'd go and do it again in a heartbeat.I'd recommend Kimberley Adventure Tours to anyone who loves the outdoors, loves the wilderness, and wants to experience one of the most beautiful and isolated places in the world. The company take care of the nitty-gritty logistics, leaving you free to enjoy the adventure. I cannot speak more highly.

9 Days of paradise I've just finished a 9 day Darwin to Broome tour with my 9 year old granddaughter. I highly recommend this if you are looking to explore the richness of the Western Australia Kimberley region. Our guide Shane was totally amazing in every way. His knowledge, passion and professionalism is highly commendable. Shane gave 100% effort to ensure we all learnt about each indigenous community, wildlife, geology, history and consistently shared from his wealth of knowledge. The Group quickly became a close knit family as we shared stunning waterfalls, gorges and nature at it's best together. If you love skies filled with stars, camping and want to explore the Kimberley Region, I can assure you you wont regret it. !1

Broome-Broome 12 day loop tour A quintessential Australian experience made more real by seeing it in a small group with a magnificent guide. Kimberley Adventure Tours support and organisation of the tour and Heath’s, our guide, logistics delivery was outstanding! Heath, kept us fed, on track and supported us to the level of our ability to do, see and experience as much as possible. All this with a sense of teamwork, fun and encouragement; we could not have wrung any more out of our days and nights immersed in the bush. With KAT and his help we saw and experienced the magnificent Kimberley to maximum effect.ThanksS,S,J & B Sydney

An amazing adventure What a wonderful experience this was. Our tour guide/driver/chef was 'The Duff Man' Duffy to me. It was the most amazing 9 days.. made all the more special because of Duffy's hard work, insight and care for his travellers. We slept under the stars, listened to amazing music and ate soooo well. The places he took us were amazing, the special sites, gorges, rock paintings, the whole experience was the best. It was not an easy ride to take but offered real freedom and appreciation of this amazing country and it's first people. The sights were spectacular and hard to describe. The best experience.

Wonderful way to see the Kimberley Four of us we’ve just returned from a 10 day private tour of the Kimberley from Darwin to Broome. The trip was everything we hoped it would be - camping under the stars, cooking on a campfire, walking in spectacular gorges and the Bungle Bungles and swimming in numerous billabongs as well as in Lake Argyle. The highlights of the trip were Lake Argyle cruise and camping; the walking in the Bungle Bungles; the visit by the Mertens’ Water Monitor at the Adcock Gorge Camp; and the roast dinner cooked by Niall in his camp oven. From the moment we were collected from our Darwin accommodation by Niall, our guide, we felt we were in a safe pair of hands. His driving throughout the tour demonstrated how familiar he was with the roads and the best spots to view wildlife. He has a passion for the Kimberley, the wildlife and indigenous culture and this was reflected in the knowledge he has of this vast area.Niall also showed a maturity beyond his relatively young years and had no difficulty relating to the four of us who are of relatively mature years (early 60’s to late 70’s).Niall is a real credit to Kimberley Adventure Tours, and in his very capable hands we had a very memorable holiday.
