4WD Trucks to access the best bits
Our Overland Truck Tours are our budget camping tour, these are operated in conjunction with Adventure Tours Australia.
We throw 20 people, 20 swags, 10 tents and heaps of food and other camping gear together and head off to the Kimberley for 10 days. The tours operate between Broome and Darwin, you can start in Broome and finish in Darwin, or do the opposite direction.
Throughout the tour we camp, we hike and swim our way along the Gibb River Rd.
We pretty much always use campsites where showers and toilets are available.

The Overland Experience
Embarking on a Kimberley tour along the Gibb River Road in Western Australia is an immersive and exhilarating experience that unveils the rugged beauty of the Kimberley region. As the truck rumbles along the dusty and corrugated road, travellers are treated to breathtaking landscapes, from towering red cliffs to expansive savannahs. The Gibb River Road traverses some of Australia’s most remote and untouched wilderness, offering a sense of adventure and exploration that is unique to this part of the world. Travellers on the overland truck tour have the opportunity to witness the changing scenery, from the dramatic gorges of Windjana and Manning to the sparkling waterfalls of Emma Gorge, creating a tapestry of natural wonders that unfold with each kilometre traveled.
The overland truck itself becomes a mobile oasis, equipped with all the necessities for a comfortable journey through the outback. The camaraderie among fellow travellers is fostered during shared meals prepared on the truck’s onboard kitchen, creating a sense of community as stories are exchanged under the vast Kimberley sky. Evenings at the campsites along the Gibb River Road are a highlight, with the truck forming a central hub for relaxation and stargazing. As the sun sets, the remote location provides an unparalleled view of the Southern Hemisphere’s night sky, with constellations and the Milky Way stretching across the horizon.
Beyond the natural wonders, the Kimberley tour along the Gibb River Road allows for cultural encounters with Indigenous communities. Travellers have the chance to learn about the rich Aboriginal history and traditions that are deeply intertwined with the land. The Gibb River Road tour is not merely a journey; it is an odyssey that combines adventure, natural spectacle, and cultural immersion, leaving travellers with indelible memories of the untamed beauty of the Australian outback.
